Oh yes, indeed! I have been having it for well over 2 months now. The discomfort has bit less now but it's very painful. For me, it started out at first on the tricep in my right arm. It was SO painful I could hardly lift it behind my head at all. My massage therapist confirmed it was "really really tight" and she had no clue why since I'd not done anything strenuous, etc. We thought maybe it was from use of the mouse on the computer, so I switched to a left handed mouse. No real difference. Eventually, the pain lessened and became pretty normal.

Then, this past month, I've got that identical pain on BOTH arms in my triceps. The discomfort spread across my breasts/upper chest as well. It got so bad I actually had an EKG done, which of course, came out fine. Once again, my massage therapist was totally stumped as to what was causing it - again, no repetitive or strenuous activity at all. Then, my armpits starting hurting as well. It was unreal! So, I had my dr check it out as I thought it might be lymph infection or something. No .. which is good. AND my dr coldn't figure any of it out either, but just said "it's in the muscles". So I'm now on iburophen everday at the maximum dosage for a week to see if it lessens. I will have to say, this is day 3 for me and it's better -certainly not gone, but better.

I am CONVINCED this is hormonal, especially when I had very similar muscle issues/pain in my hamstrings about 2 1/2 years ago - it felt like I'd run a marathon - muscles so tight, etc. Eventually, it went away as well.

Feel free to email me if you'd like. I so emphasize with you and am right there with you. kathleent

I get this as well. Always in my left arm, and extremely painful. I also think it's hormonal. For me, it happens the week AFTER my period. sad.gif

A few years ago, I developed pain in my left upper arm and shoulder that wouldn't go away. It got to the point that lifting a hairbrush to brush my hair would hurt. After ignoring it for much too long, I finally went to to orthopedic specialist who diagnosed me with frozen shoulder. It took a few months of rehab to loosen it up. The doctor told me the typical patient he treats for this is a women whose entering or entered menopause.

Yes yes and yes I have had it and sometimes it does come back, now that I know I wont die from it I can deal with it.
You know a supplement with Magesnium/zinc and Calcium really helped, stretching that area carefully, I also let the hot water in the shower hit this area when it hurts , I use heating pads, and hot topical ointments and it goes away.

Take care

I think that is really interesting. I had this for a year around the time my periods stopped and so did a friend who was a the same stage. I can only assume that the steep drop in oestrogen leaves us open to injuring ourselves. In terms of injury I used to bounce, I don't any more! sad.gif

Do you mean by "bounce" that you did exercise on a trampoline? If so, very interesting, because I started that about 2 months ago - before this muscle stuff started. kathleent

I also have had this upper arm/tricep pain. Woke up one morning and felt like both arms had been severly injured! I couldn't lift them without a lot of pain. It gradually went away after about a year, but sometimes comes back. All medical investigations came out negative. I too think it is hormonal. It started about 6 months after my last period and 2 months after starting Synthroid for hypothyroidism. Another wierd menopause symptom rolleyes.gif
