Dx with costochondritis yesterday. Has anyone noticed when they walk alot that it really flares up? Saturday when all this really got started, I was shopping and doing alot of walking. Had my purse in the shopping cart, so I didn't have any extra weight on my shoulder. I had done really well this morning, but a trip to the store about an hour ago got it started up again and very painful. If my ribs weren't sore to the touch, I would almost swear this was GERD. Sometimes I feel like I could breathe fire. My throat and one of my ears (believe it or not) feels like a heartburn sensation. No burning in the chest though. Any suggestions or thoughts?

I had it only once and that was years ago. I remember thinking I had pneumonia becuase my ribs hurt so much. Mine they believe was due to exercise so yes, I would think walking could have caused your flare up. It seems it took me many weeks before I felt better. I've not had it since though.

Rest....

Carol,
Thanks. I too thought I may have pneumonia, one of the main reasons I finally went to the Dr. (Also wanted re-assured that it wasn't heart related, which I already knew from all the tests I've had done. But you know how meno messes with an otherwise sensible mind.)
