Hi Everyone,
I'm new here. I had a complete hysterectomy in 2008. I was on Premarin 1.25 until 3 days ago, and just can't handle the brain fog, shaky feeling, fatigue, weight gain around the tummy and the dry loose skin I've now. Wasn't at all this way before hysterectomy and looked great for my age....now
My obgyn is not progressive and I have not seen him in 4 mos. He had me on cymbalta, high blood pressure meds, and tried hard to put me on other synthetic medicine that I would not take. After so much info on Premarin and the fact that I feel abandoned because Obgyn will not do the blood panel I requested to check any hormone levels I could possible have left, I finally decided to get off this premarin. (got off these other meds months ago)
I posted on the introduce yourself page asking if anyone had heard about the Esto500 cream at this page? www.estro500.com (guess this constitutes a new subject, yikes! on that board) Anyone know someone using this?
I have no medical insurance, and need help before my hot flashes return. I have no quality of life, no support system whatsoever, live alone and barely leave this house anymore. I will continue to read these posts for more info on products others are taking and hope I find something soon.
Thank you in advance for the fact that this site exsists and for helping so many of us!

Yoli, you must get a second opionion. And, a third if necessary. Quality of life if very important. Don't know what this estro500 is but you can't take something without a drs. input and monitoring of your health. Perhaps there is a good clinic in you community that you could go to for free/reduced healthcare. Many teaching hospitals have womens health clinics that are affiliated with them. Also, call Planned Parenthood and see if they can provide any healthcare or hormones. They should, at the very least, be able to direct you to someone who will see you without insurance.
Re: Meds/hormones - previous post mentioned Walmart (Target also) sells medicines and hormones at very low cost. And, yes they do have the bio identical ones too. But, there are also synthetics (other than Premarin) that might work for you too. You don't know until you try. You can get Walmart/Target drug formulary list online and take it with you to the doctors appointment. Tell the dr you need him to prescribe off this list inorder for you to afford the meds.
Another option for obtaining low cost meds is to ask your dr. for free samples. Also, ask the dr. to call the drug company, or drug rep, and say he has a patient without insurance. You would be surprised at how quickly they will drop off more free samples of their products. Works more often than you would think. Best regards, J
