I an so confused...About 2 years ago I began having very irregular periods ...once every 3 - 4 months... and they have been very light and short too. My PCP and GYN both tested hormone levels and said they were in menopausal range...so I was told it was just early meno...I was 41 at the time. Since that time I have continued to rarely have a period. My last one (until recently) was about 6 months ago.... Then 3 months ago I had a 'normal' period and have had one every 28 days like clock work. THis sees very odd to me. Can anyone shed any light on this situation?

FYI, I have hashimotos thyroiditids (an autoimmune disease). In the back of my mind I thought I had some sort of hormonal imbalance and this was more than early menopause. Does anyone have any idea what could be going on?

THnaks in advance,

K

I know this is old and am wondering how you are doing? Is your thyroid medicine optimized because that could be the problem, the thyroid..

I am still having problems. My gyno is sending me to a "reproductive" endocrinologist - not for reproductive issues - but he said a reproductive endo was the best person to sort out all my endocrine (thyroid, hormones, etc.) issues - since thyroid problems impact other endocrine system hormones and vice versa. On my last labs (about 2 monts ago) my thyroid levels were supposedly normal. I have the appointment with the new doc on Feb 18 so we will see what he has to say.

Thanks for responding to my question!
