Hi everyone. I am due in four days and this internal shaking is driving me nuts! I sit there and it actually feels like my legs and arms are shaking inside. I have been under alot of stress, New Years Eve had a big blowout with neighbor which caused panic attack and shakes have been with me since. I am 43, peri, and noticed too that just before im due i have night sweats, can't sleep and palps. Anyone else have shakes for days? Thanks

Oh, I feel so bad for you. It must be truly awful. I have had them on and off at times, but never constant. Have you tried benadryl or xanax? It may calm things down. I hope you feel better.

I do take xanax which helps. I cut .25 in half and take half in morning and half at night but when it wears off its back again.....lol

Hi,

I started experiencing the internal shaking along with a lot of other things about two and half months ago. I seem to wake up every hour to three hours, and the insides of my legs are vibrating, buzzing, or otherwise trembling. A lot of twitching, too. This has led to my legs feeling very weak, shaky, and rubbery all the time, which makes me feel strange when I walk, which has led to a lot of panic/anxiety.

My doctor has diagnosed me with GAD/panic disorder. I tried buspar -- didn't do anything. I just went off it two days ago and today feel really ill -- headache, and generally ill and spacy. It is the second heavy day of my period so maybe that's it, but I wonder whether going off the buspar is contributing. Not a good thought, as I'm feeling I have no choice but to try an AD and am terrified of the reactions.

I've been reading about adrenal fatigue on this site, but not sure the internal trembling is related to that. My problem is less feeling tired than it is feeling keyed up all the time. Seems like adrenaline is constantly going. I don't see too much of a connection with my cycles, and I'm still having normal periods, although the PMS was brutal this month and the period is brutal, too. I am 46, though, and this came on suddenly. Some think it's hormonally related. My hormone blood tests came out normal.

Sorry I can't offer any wisdom on the internal shaking, except to say that it's happening to me and judging from this website it's pretty common. The only thing I can say is, it's probably a good idea to try and not get freaked out about it (not that I've succeeded!). I've been reading books by Claire Weekes. I have a hard time putting the principles into practice, but I love her books.

Hello...
Can you explain internal vibrations? I know that I tingle and buzz and twitch in my lower legs and feet... esp. when at rest.. I am just not sure what internal vibrations are...
thanks!
hugs!

I get the internal shaking....sorry that you are going through this... I think it might actually have something to do with blood sugar levels during this time for me... I notice if I take ACV (apple cider vinegar, Braggs) during the week before I don't get those as often...or cramping... From what I've read some women's blood sugar levels are higher during the week before their cycle...resulting in cravings, etc...and so is progesterone higher as most of us know... Don't know if the ACV will work for you but it definitely works for me...

Oh, just in case you're interested in taking it I use one cup of warm water to 2 T. of ACV...usually twice a day right before meals... It's a holistic remedy and some people use it for blood pressure, some weight loss, some to help control blood sugars, etc...

I have it also, few days before TOM. I always had one day of poor sleep before my period, even inm y 20s, and now I have few night sweats and some jitters, vibration, and buzzing.
It is all related to hormonal fluctuations, that overstimulate hypothalamus, pituitary, and adrenals. I take very lose dose xanax and it helps with the symptoms, most of the symptoms are anxiety related that is exacerbated by the menopausal transition.
I went through most of the worst symptoms over the past 7+ years, so it will subside, as your body adjust to new lower levels of hormones.
What used to be slight drop before menstruation, now is much bigger dip, so your autonomic system over reacts.
Good luck, HTH.
I.
