Hi Ladies:

I hope your all doing well. I went to see my guno yesterday because of all these bad symptoms I'm having. He believes I may have adrenal fatigue. I don't know much about this. Of course I"ve already started reading some but its alittle confusing. He's already started me on some new vitamins and I have to do a saliva test next week. I was wondering if any of you that may have this could help me some with what foods and such I should be doing. I would appreciate any help and info you can give.

THanks and Happy New Year

Hi Patty,
I have adrenal fatigue which made me unable to tolerate thyroid meds which I needed to be taking. My doc had me take hydrocortisone, which is the bioidentical form of cortisol, which is made by the adrenal glands, and now I am taking the thyroid meds with no problem.

Did your doc do a saliva cortisol test? That is the best way to find out. You spit into a tube 4 times/day to see what your cortisol amount and rhythm is doing.

If you have only mild adrenal fatigue, it's possible to resolve it by getting to bed no later than 10 every night, taking plenty of B-complex, Vit. C, and pantothenic acid, which are all great for the adrenals, and possibly adrenal glandular supplements. Some people find the glandulars help quite a lot, but I've not had much success with them, and I know others who also have problems. We found that they seemed to make us very wired, and think it possible that parts of the adrenals other than the cortex (the source of cortisol) could be getting into the supplement, such as the medulla, which secretes the adrenaline-like hormones) And not all glandulars are the same, so if you are willing to experiment, you might find one that works.

But I would urge you to get the saliva test so you can know for sure, if possible. If your doc won't do it, you can order it online.
