I must be the exception to this rule as I
LOVE the day after Xmas (we call it Boxing Day here in NZ). I loathe Xmas day and all it represents (all the pressure to conform to family expectations) so Boxing day is my day to chill out, relax and enjoy what is in my case the beginning of my xmas holiday break. I am taking 5 weeks off work to get myself together after what has been a very stressful & trying year and so far I feel great just knowing there is no pressure on me to do anything I don't want to do. In fact yesterday I cleaned out my salon, polished the floor in it, did 8 loads of laundry, took down curtains and washed them also and generally had a good spring/summer clean out and it felt darn good to do it. Haven't had that kind of energy or inclination for a long time. I won't take down my Xmas tree or lights till way into January (had them up since mid November

) as this is the best part of the Christmas season and I like it to continue for as long as possible and I don't care about silly superstitions etc about taking xmas trees down by a certain date yadda yadda yadda.
Now I just have to work out how to get the stench of cigarette smoke out of my wooden baby cot that I lent out to someone and they returned ruined by cigarette smoke so now I can't pass it on to my son to use for my first grandchild.
Anyone have any suggestions short of sanding it all down and revarnishing it as this would be a mammoth task as it is a colonial style one with lots of turned wood etc so sanding it would be near impossible and take forever

and I only have till June to get it sorted
