Well,as I have posted before I am trying to lose weight.I started allowing myself 1700 calories per day,and I keep track of it on a free website.Well,I weighed tonight and guess what? I have lost 13 pounds!!!! I started my diet Oct. 30,the day before Halloween-which was hard with three kids in the house-but I feel really good about this.I have been having some hard times the past few days because of my MILs cancer, and other stress-but I just wanted to post some good news for a change. My pants are fitting better and I actually can wear a pair that just two months ago did not button. My husband says he can see a definate differance.GOD bless ladies.

I have heard low carb diets are very hard for women.Thats why I just lowered my calories thus time.I have also cut out most of my extra sugar.I used to drink sweet tea daily.i know make my tea plain and use splenda or sweet and low, that has made a big difference. Thanks for the reply!GOD-bless

Well I have the opposite problem.(sorry ladies)...I can't seem to gain weight. I'm the type when I get stressed or get panicky I can't eat. I lost 30 lbs in 3 months. I hate it cause I feel like I'm ruining my digestive system. I just don't have any appetite. I can't afford to lose any more. My doctor pretty much said eat what you want. Any body have any suggestions for me to gain some weight?? I drink alot of ensure BLAH!

Char,

I was where you were not so long ago! When all the anxiety and panic hit me like a ton of bricks, seemingly out of the blue...I couldn't eat either. I tried to drink Ensure and Carnation Instant Breakfast (and yuk is right!) but I was worried about the lack of nutrition rather than my digestive system.

For me it was mediation that finally made me turn the corner into eating again. It was Ativan at first, then an AD, and finally BHRT. I have regained all the weight I lost, and then some. I am not pleased about the weight gain, although I wasn't looking good with the amount of weight I had dropped. I did like all the tiny cute clothes I could wear!! Unfortunately I didn't feel up to going out and showing off those cute clothes!! So I had to settle for fat and happy as opposed to skinny and miserable. In the new year I am going to try and be somewhere in the middle weight wise, but keep the happy!!

I don't know what else to tell you, you need to find a way to get rid of the anxiety and panic for the sake of your health. We can't go on forever not eating!! My opinion was the lack of nutrition and the stress of anxiety/panic was worse for my health than taking the meds.

I am in the same boat as you....the only advice i can give is to "force feed" yourself for awhile...what i mean by that is just eat anyway and wash it down with water...after awhile your appetite will come back and you'll WANT to eat again....At first i was happy being so skinny...but then i caught a good glimpse of myself at work (refelction in the glass) and realized i had lost too much and i'm looking old and haggard....plus i seem to catch every little bug that goes around,i feel weak and tired and plain unwell all the time.....good luck to you...

I have heard the low carb diet is very hard to deal with.I decided I wanted to try just staying under 1700 calories a day,I try to exercise, but I don't every day,and as I said I have lost 12 pounds, good luck.GOD-bless

You're a rockstar Lady!! Good for you!!

As I have complained about before, I KNOW what to do, but have a hard time keeping it up! I do great for a couple weeks, and then I fall off.

I got a Wii Fit for Christmas and I've done it almost daily. I even have been getting up at 5AM to do 30 minutes of the step aerobics on the Wii. Hubby and I play tennis, box, and hula hoop in the evenings! It's so much fun! I took today off though because I have Wii elbow tongue.gif

Hubby offered to take me to dinner tonight, but that's always the killer for me... SOOO I went to the market and bought lots of chcken, fish, fruit and veggies. Hubby said "What? No pasta?? No ice cream?" LOL He is more overweight than I am, and takes meds for BP, and cholesterol so he is my motivation right now.

I just have to look at the daily picture, and not the big one.

We can do it!!

Well initially I guess it was but it cleared up my allergies and some other health concerns of mine... I eat mostly whole foods and recently started the Alternate Day Diet, mostly because I don't feel like cooking actually....so hoping it helps me to lose... Maybe if I get some energy I could exercise regularly...we'll see!

Congrats again to you!
