please let me know if i should put this on another topic. I turned 46 this past year. all year my periods have been irregular. some times 20 days apart and this last one was 46, now i seem to have started? it is very very light. just a little bright red spot. every day for the past 4 days now. is this still a period? could something be wrong? i had just light cramps for a few days before this. any body relate? i don't know if i should worry or is this something normal? thanks for any advice and replys. chrissyriss

It sounds like a classic peri period to me.Do you have other symptoms?

Sounds like Peri to me too.This is often how things start.Try to let us know if there are any other symptoms too.

Probably time for a full Gyno.check up to see where you stand hormonal wise.

Sounds just like what I've been going through the past 3 years! If you're really worried, check with your doctor, but it sounds like peri. Its been 41 days since the beginning of my last cycle!!! Every time I get that far, I'm hoping its gone for good!!! But it'll come back . . .

My thyroid messed up my menstrual cycle 4 years ago when i was 42. I have Hashimoto's Disease, which caused my periods to stop. I had my thyroglobulin antibodies checked at the time along with the usual TSH, surprisingly the TSH was normal while my antibodies were very high.
