angiebec
Hi everyone, I posted for the first time last week and you were kind to respond to my problem, so thank you. The constant sickness feeling is staying with me, although I have had a good 5 days, but has come back with avengence today.

The past few days I have started to get really itchy on my legs. The itch actually hurts and it feels like there is crawly things on me, some places there are small pimples, not red though. I also feel very hot all over really, although a bit shivery this morning. I think I have had this temperature thing before though, seems to be peri symptoms.

If only I could get rid of this nausea though, it is driving me mad. It seems to come from my upper stomach area, no heartburn or indigestion though, again as many of you have commented it does feel like morning sickness, but I know for definate it isn't. My period only finished yesterday after two days of being quite heavy and then 12 days of being very light. I don't seem to get a spell now where I feel really well, it just seems continuous and is really getting me down.

I would love some words of encouragement girls to help me through this festive period (excuse the term of phrase) or to see if any of you feel the same as me.

Thanking you in advance of your replies

I also had bouts of nausea, sometimes causing me to "throw up a little bit in my mouth", if you know what I mean. And I felt all woozy like I was going to faint. Ugh.

I did a lot of reading and concluded that the nausea could be caused by rapid increase in the level of estradiol. During peri the estradiol can be doing quite the roller coasting, and can apparently rise rapidly as well as fall rapidly.

If you are having temperature control problems, you might want to consider supplementing estradiol. It's not just for the fully menopausal. You could get the gel and try a small amount and see if it doesn't help.

Thank you Lady E and Sandra Smith for your quick replies. I am from UK, are saltine crackers just plain crackers?

As we speak I have some HRT pills that my doc gave me back in June 2007, bu have been a bit of a coward in taking them as a bit wary of side effects. I am a bit of a wuss as far as taking stuff is concerned and you would think I would try any thing to get rid of this terrible nausea. Tablets given have 1 mg of estradiol in them for the first 16 and the last 12 have 1 mg estradiol /1mg norethisterone acetate, so you have encouraged me to give them a go, but I will have to wait until my next period to start taking them.

Thank you again your help is greatly appreciated.

Hi angie:

I am there with you. I thought that things were supposed to get better when we started these lame periods we are having. I bleed like a stuck hog for a couple days then spot forever! And like Sandra said the faint feeling just plain *****!!!!!!! I cant seem to shake it.

I agree with the others, when nausea takes over try the crackers or pretzels and ginger ale because if you dont put something in there you will be feeling dizzy because of lack of food and that would be worse as far as I am concerned.

Hugs to you and hope that you are feeling better.

Thanks Jeaninne for your reply. I will give the crackers a go, had a glass of tonic water last night and that for whatever reason helped a bit, so maybe the ginger ale will be better. I have just had two slices of dry toast for my breakfast, so I am trying, although at this moment I don't feel too bad.

Try some peppermint tea for the nausea. As for the itchy crawly skin, sounds like Formication. Formication is a somewhat unusual, but medically well-known, abnormal sensation. This sensation closely resembles the feeling of insects crawling on and/or under the skin, and can also include sensations which resemble those of insects stinging or biting. Menopause is a one of the culprits of this.
