Im 43 and for the past 3 months i am tired all the time, my periods are so irregular now, they use to run like clockwork but now i may have one a week early then the next one may be late and the flow is real light where it was fairly heavy.4 nights ago and every since i have woke up covered in sweat.
I feel like im on a non stop PMS rage. i dont have an appointment for my Dr until jan so any thoughts will help until then

Yes it sounds like the start to me. Just make sure you keep a record of your periods and bleeding, since I can't remember anything anymore it sure helps to be able to see it written down. My meno is mainly emtional and anxietys, plus everyother one that is under signs of menopause, the one I haven't had is the hot flashes..But I hear from women on this site that they are pure hell..I am glad that you are going to the dr..I hope he/she take a blood test to see what your levels are. Until then just visit here at PS for alot of support and help

I wish I would have found this site when I started having the night sweats, irregular cycles, fatigue and the emotional ups and downs.

First thing I would say is start right now taking care of yourself...lifestyle changes...exercise, healthy diet (cut caffiene, sugar), meditation. Get a jump on it. Don't wait like I did. I started the lifestyle changes within the past 4 months and it surely has made a difference. Yes, I still have peri symptoms but with the help of my doctor, diet and exercise I can manage much better than I did one year ago.

BellaC hit the nail right on the head. Lifestyle changes made a big difference for me. I cut out caffeine, lots less sugar, exercise, more veggies, less alcohol - my doctor is stern about keeping it to one glass of wine a day.

I'm still dealing with it all. And when anxiety gets me, a Xanax does the trick.

Hang in there, and keep coming back to this site. It's wonderful. You WILL make it through this, and thrive on the other side.

Sounds right on target to me. The first thing I noticed was the crashing fatigue. Because I'm a single Mom, everyone pushed it off as stress but it felt much, much different. I knew my body was going through something (also at 43). I started sweating the nights before my period, waking up to change 2 or 3 times and then giving up and sleeping in a wet t-shirt from there lol!
My periods also got very light and started spotting 2-3 days before it would come.My original Dr (female) gave me PMS meds that did nothing. However she did atleast recognize that the *change* was imminent.
Powersurge is the absolute best site, bar none!!!!
The Women here offer better advice and support than any Dr. out there...
