I've recently changed insurances and my new insurance no longer covers the topical creams that I was taking so I'm now going to have to pay out of pocket for all three... progesterone, estrodial and testosterone... this is going to get expensive and I am also out of a job. My insurance does cover the pill forms and I was wondering if anyone had any experience with these? Same with estrodial.. my insurance covers it in pill form too.

Thanks

HI Carol:

I started out on a combination oral E/P/T. I took it every day for a month. I switched to the creams b/c I heard the orals were not that good for the liver, but my doctor said they are still fine. I also didn't like taking the progesterone every day b/c I was getting a bit low and weepy a lot and I figured it was b/c of the progesterone. But it was definitely cheaper.

Thanks Corky,

I always heard that progesterone was the 'happy hormone'... anytime I'm beginning to feel edgy, I try to think back if I took my progesterone the night before and most times I haven't. Of course, being edgy and weepy aren't the same. Progesterone also makes me really tired if I get too much but then too much estrogen will also make me tired.

I think I'll give the pill forms a chance... we are going through our savings at an alarming rate and the news on unemployment isn't good. I need to save where I can.

Good luck in getting yours regulated.
