Full Version: Weird Head Sensation

I just read another post about hormone headaches and I wonder if this is what I'm going through. My period is late, which is nothing new, since it has been very, very irregular for the last ten years. Last month I was spotting just about every other day. This month nothing, but I've been having what seems like continual hot flashes/sweats and mild headaches. Even the fluttering/palpitation sensation in my chest which usually occur prior to my period starting, but still nothing.

Today after eating and taking my regular daily vitamins I had this weird wave like head sensation. I sorta felt like I was about to pass out, but it happened so quickly...then nothing. Needless to say afterwards I was a bit shaken wondering if I should call someone or just sit still.

I've had migraines before...matter of fact last month before my period started I had a headache and difficulty seeing the road signs while driving. Once my period started my vision improved and the headache subsided.

Does this make sense to anyone?

Yes I get quick little waves go through my head.. sort of a buzzing sensation in my brain that lasts a few seconds and then is gone... I may have a mild hot flash afterward with some of them. This happens a couple times a month for me.

It makes sense to me.

Have had weird head sensations...mine vary...they really are hard to describe...a falling sensation like when you are going to just doze off only you are awake. Then sometimes, for lack of a better term, "brain quakes" just feels like a small quaking, wave sensation. Was your experience similar?

These really scared me when they first started happening. They did not happen often, just out of the blue. Went through testing after talking with my doctor and he prescribed anxiety medication which helped considerably. If I have a wave of peri symptoms, particularly hot flashes like happymom07, they seem to return sometimes just before the hot flash.

Take care.

Wow I can relate to the falling sensation. That is a good way to describe it. I was told by my doc that it was due to anxiety and calming down will make it go away.

Yes smile.gif, that's it... you do know what I'm having a difficult time explaining...like brain quakes and that falling sensation when you are just about to doze off...that sounds like what I experienced!!!!!!!!!! I ended up having to take an Ativan after this experience since I felt a bit off, shakey, just not right afterwards.

Yep! ME TOO!!! I get this, exactly what you described! I don't have the exact answer as to what it is, but I bet it's something to do, either with hormones, or anxiety! But, fret not, you're not alone.......I've had this a number of times!
