I seem to have several random days of anxiety where my heart beats fast all day and feeling jittery like I've had 10 cups of coffee,I usually just ride them out could this be related to hormones? On these days is when I feel the need for Xanax(which I try to resist) Am I just crazy!!

Of course you are not crazy. Anxiety is one of the most prominent symptoms of peri, IMO. Be lucky it isn't happening to you every hour of every day! Why resist the Xanax? If you're only using it once in a while, it's perfectly safe and will leave you with a better quality of life!

You are not crazy at all. it is so normal although you dont' feel like it. If the xanax makes you feel better, then by all means take it, I also resist and try not to do it, but sometimes it is just necessary and life is too short not to feel good. I hope you feel better.

Thanks to you both for replying I will probably just take it as needed, its just the fast heartbeat that gets me concerned,I have had everything checked out, and everything is fine, it's just hard to believe that hormonal fluctuations can cause this!

Are you kidding....My heart was palpitating so fast and hard that I felt like I needed to hold my chest so it wouln't pop out. Yes those crazy hormones has alot to do with that. When they are out of whack so are we...Take the xanax it will calm it for a while.

You are not only NOT CRAZY but you are perfectly describing a pervasive anxiety which effects so many of us. If it is uncomfortable for you then by all means take your meds. It is most likely COMPLETELY related to hormones and has personally, to date, been the primary symptoms of my peri experience - in all varieties of severity.
hugs to you sister - you're neither alone nor crazy!
