I am sorry I missed this post yesterday or I would have answered sooner. I dont know if there are medical conditions related to profuse sweating but I know that I seem to sweat more as I get older. I am like you, I know the difference between hotflash sweating and just regular working sweat. My working sweat seems to be heavier. The thing I find odd is why if I have all this excess moisture in my body is my skin so dang dry!!!!!!!
Hugs to you,
J

Could be related to hot flashes. When I have sweating flashes I'll sweat *everywhere* ! Palms, backs of knees, and other places I wouldn't normally sweat if I were overheating because of exercise or other exertion.

Funny enough, I noticed the past week, although it is 0 outside and not overly warm in the house (I always feel a bit chilled) but I have been moist in the armpits! Not sweaty wet, but definately moist lol! VERY new and different for me. Hmmmm, love to see what summer brings ;-)

What i'm talking about is just profuse sweating.....not hot flashes,i can tell when i'm "flashing" because of the internal shaking, the dizziness and weakness ,anxiety and profuse sweating....this new thing is when i'm doing absolutely nothing and the sweat just starts pouring off of me and dripping off my boobs.....no other symptoms other than sweating.....

moonlight...I was never a big "sweater" (hahahaha, that sounds so funny), until I hit meno and post and I sweat more often but not profusely. I think you should definitely mention it to your physician and see what they have to say about it. I definitely would. It could be a symptom of menopause and I've read hyperthyroidism can cause sweating too.

Wow, I can SO relate to THIS!!! Thankfully, I have passed thru this phase of peri, but it was SO uncomfortable. One really memorable day was when I was going to Guitar Center with a bunch of friends. I got out of the shower that morning and couldn't stop sweating. During the drive there I was a passenger and KEPT sweating! Then at the store I was trying out a guitar and was just sitting there pouring sweat. I had to go outside and sit down to try to cool off. I felt fine, but I couldn't stop the profuse sweating. That is the worst episode I can remember and my friends said later they felt so sorry for me. UGH..... How embarassing.
You will get thru this phase.........but I agree it would be a good idea to mention it to your doctor as well. I did.....mine was plain ole nasty peri.
Wishing you much happiness and "non" sweating days!

guitarplayer, that's exactly how i am.....just can't stop sweating. And it's embarrassing, specially since it's just 16 degrees outside and i seem to be the only one dripping sweat and saying the air feels good.....

Yep......that's it!!! I as the one that would say..."wow, it's hot" and everyone would look at me like I had two heads and then they'd say "I'm FREEEEEZING!!"
Yeah, basically it's just dripping sweat for no reason....no exercise...just sitting could make me sweat. It was embarssing on days I had to teach. I'd walk into my studio and if the heat was on even just a bit I'd be pouring sweat. Embarassing isn't the word. I kept a little bandana close at hand to wipe off my forehead and between lessons I'd splash cold water on my face in the restroom.
I brought a little fan to blow on me during lessons, too......
It's VERY uncomfortable and I'm so sorry you have to go thru this. BUT...it will pass. I don't have it at all now.......and I sweat only when I'm working out really hard or talking a really long walk.
Just remember, it will pass. But do also see your doctor just so he knows what you are experiencing. Always check with your doctor.
