I am going in for one on Tuesday so I thought I would try drinking the 32 ounces of water they say you have to 45 minutes before the exam.
I am about 40 minutes past drinking it and I can barely hold it. I have to go the bathroom soooooo bad I do not think I will be able to hold it for the test.
Has anyone had this problem? Is this common during menopause?
I know sometimes I get the urge to go really bad, but I never drink 32 ounces of water in 15 minutes lol.
Does this mean there is something wrong with my bladder?
I have an extremely over active bladder........have to wear a pad at all times, but I did fine with holding. I made sure I didn't drink anything besides the required amount of water and I waited until I was almost out the door before starting.
I also wonder if stressing over it is actually gonna cause the need to go even more intense.
One good thing...........if you are having a transvaginal ultrasound, you are allowed to empty your bladder AFTER the abdominal and BEFORE the actual vaginal. I was very scared that I could not hold out, but I did just fine.
Try not to stress too much and you will do fine.
