Hello! I am new here, I am 50, and have been having hot flashes on and off for 8 years. And in the last year, I have been skipping periods, then spotting for a month at a time. Such a PITA!
So, during the time I am spotting, I want to wear a Tampon, BUT, I can feel my old Tampax Tampons while there inside me, and when I take them out
its painful, because I am not as lubricated as I used to be-> HELLO! All the cotton sticks to the side of my vaginal walls- OWWIE!
I hate wearing pads, as they feel hot and sticky, and I am already HOT all the TIME!
Any suggestions, of Tampons that work at this stage of life?!?
Thanks Ladies!

Oh my goodness but that must be horrible for you. I would be inclined to encourage you to use pads...smaller ones of course and change them more often. I loved using tampons when my flow was heavy; yours isn't the by sounds of it however.
Sorry that I am not that much help ~ but wanted to welcome you sleepdog!

What about a menstrual cup? Would that help?
The Mooncup is a reusable menstrual cup around two inches long and made from soft silicone rubber. It is worn internally like a tampon but collects menstrual fluid rather than absorbing. Unlike tampons the Mooncup is not a disposable product, so you only need to buy one.
Hope this helps.

I have the same problem. I found Playtex for Teens to be just what I need. They do not irritate my inside skin anything like the regular and heavy duty tampons that I used before.
I hope you find something quickly.

I sometimes have the same problem. Try lubricating the applicator with a bit of KY or other personal lubricant, really helps with insertion. Then use the smallest Junior tampon you can find. If that is not comfortable, go with a pad.

Thank you,for the welcome!
I had never even thought of the little cup things, they might be worth a try! Thank you!
The little tiny tampons, don't stay put, LOL! they tend to slip out.
Pads, are just yuk! Especially when I am spotting for a month at a time. Its not a real period. I'm talking about now. Its the darn spotting.
Thank you Ladies,
For all your replies!

My first thought was the teen tampons too.
I am having to use the super dupers on my peri heavy days-yuck!

I have found that tampons are not as comfortable as they used to be (I am 54) either, but like you I don't like to wear the heavy pads you need on your heavy days. The pads irritate my skin on the sides of my legs now. I used to be able to wear them with no problem. What I did was change brand of tampons and found one that I can wear on my heavy days with a light day pad for extra protection. Then on my lighter days I just go with the smaller type pads. On my heavy days the tampon seems ok most likely due to the extra lubracation there because of the flow. I am planning on a celebration when I can finally through all this out for good.
