Ok, now that I'm running full tilt into peri I've gained six pounds in three months, craving salt and sugar non stop. Plus I've had to battle the frequent headaches. I've always been great with metabolism, not heavy. But the extra pounds are stuck and I'm not helping it by craving potato chips. Any vitamin thingys that would help? More water? I'm really not excited about gaining weight, especially in the holiday season. Plus the non-stop headaches. That is really getting old.

I gained a lot of weight during my early peri years. I'm talking 50+ pounds in 5 years, it was awful. I was always a food abuser but it got out of hand when I became peri. Unfortunately I didn't know what peri was at the time, I might have been able to do something about it.

I've managed to remove 30 pounds but having a hell of a time removing the rest. I have tried repeatedly over the past 2 years and gone absolutely nowhere ! I went down and up 4 times and am back to the exact same weight where I started. :-/

I urge you to do all you can to not overeat, you might find it very difficult to take the weight off. Or if you must indulge, try to choose the healthiest possible foods that will satisfy your cravings, like have some nuts instead of potato chips, and exercise enough to balance out the increased calories.

Hi Becky,

Yeah, the headache thing is bad. I had non-stop headaches, and sinus headaches when peri first HIT me! I still am stuck with the sinus stuff. I 've had sinus issues for many years now, BUT NOT LIKE THIS! I will never forget the 6 weeks I spent, feeling like somebody was pressing their thumb into my left temple. NOT GOOD! The weight gain is a bummer! This probably gets us all! As far as cravings....oh yeah! Salt and sugar, right on! ..lol.... rolleyes.gif I take liquid vits. and minerals, bec. they dissolve much quicker into the blood stream than hard pills, which take much longer and are harder to digest. More water will help you loose weight, USUALLY.....but during peri, all the rules change...so, you can try it, but don't be surprised if that doesn't really work either. I know, .........this is really hard!

I am getting headaches that REFUSE to leave!

Have had one day and night for DAYS!

No other symptoms, just the headache.

They have been so bad that I can't do the simplest thing like loading the dishwasher.

I have wondered if the meds were causing it, but I'm not taking anything new.

I can relate to the headaches and binge eating, i have gained about 14 pounds in the last couple of months. I've also gone from not eating potato chips to eating them nearly everyday! then theres the darn chocolate!

I'm coming back as a bloke! dry.gif
