Have you had your thyroid levels checked ????

Yes, I have the same thing. I have been feeling shakey for months now. I have had my thyroid checked, an MRI, and neurology evaluation. Docs say everything is normal. The neurologist explained that everyone shakes to some extent - some more than others. Can't figure out why I just started noticing it but I have noticed that it is worse with stress and anxiety. Although I don't think it is caused by stress, I think it is much worse when I am stressed. I take 250 mg of Mag. and 500 mg of Vit C a day. Haven't noticed much of a difference.

FYI - I am 39 and haven't been tested for peri. Cycles are pretty normal still.

Hello!
Yes I have had my TSH checked and my doc said the thyroid was normal, I dont know about that though... my brother is on thyroid meds etc. I just feel really out of it and have for the past 6 months.. I just wish the answer was peri! lol.. My hands and sometimes my whole body feels shaky, and I get extremely cold, is that a symptom??
thanks!
hugs..

Dear 'bimmergal'

The shakes are a fairly common symptom during Menopause. It is essential to cut out all caffeine products such as colas, coffee and chocolate, boring but true.Another cause is the tension caused by holding our muscles too tight due to anxiety. You could probably talk to your Doctor about a muscle relaxant or an anti anxiety med.such as Xanax which is very effective even when used in small doses.

It does feel bad when the shakiness occurs but I can assure you that you are much more aware of it than anyone else is.This creates more anxiety and tension and the 'shakes'just feeds on all that.

I think most of the ladies on this forum have done the shimmy shake both inside and out.So try to relax!

All the Best

Yes I hope your right, I do worry if others see me shaking away.. I hold a cup and I shake, I see the water move. OH and I did cut out coffee and colas... coffee really gets to me these days so I dont drink it, but I love it, I guess I could get decaf. LOL
thanks again!

I just had my first hand tremors today, a quivering in two of my fingers that wouldn't stop for thirty whole minutes. No other symptoms, just shaky hands. Thanks to this forum, it feels more like a right of passage than a signal to call my next of kin. I took some vitamin C and got over myself. The shakes eventually went away.

I can't count how many times this website has saved my sanity. You ladies rock out loud! (No pun intended.) tongue.gif

Hugs and more hugs,

Chrysalis
