I just picked up my Prometrium pills. The f*ckers gave me only a 1 month supply, 15 pills. I have to go back every single month to get more ? How many Viagra pills does a guy get at one time ?

Anyway, insurance covered some portion and I was left to pay $23.39. Does that sound right ? I'll be spending $24/month just for the Prometrium then.

I also picked up Estrogel and didn't think I would get coverage for that but apparently I did, and I paid $40 for a 50g container. There are 32 doses in the container so if I did full doses it would last a month, but I'm sure I won't use that much, at least not in the beginning. Let's say it lasts me 2 months. Then my monthly expenditure for hormones will be $44/month. Not bad, I guess, but up significantly from the $8.50/month for Pro-Gest. :-)

Sandra,

Prometrium is VERY expensive, even here in Canada where our drugs are significantly cheaper than yours. Mine cost about $30 a month for 30 pills. The Estrogel is $40 for an 80mg bottle, so for me it lasts 40 days, as I am a 2 pumps a day user. This is full price. I have a drug plan now, so I will only have to pay 20% of those above numbers from now on!! YAY!!!

I might investigate having my prescriptions filled online or at WalMart or something. I should shop around. I have used so few prescription drugs in my life, I was not a BCP user, so I don't know all of the ins and outs. I'll have to do some research.

I know there are some Canadian online pharmacy's that will ship to the US...you should check that out. I am not sure if the shipping and handling would push the price up making not a viable plan or not.

Hi there,
I can't remember exactly what I paid for two months (60 pills) each of Prometrium and Estrace (100 mgs/1 mg respectively) but I know it was around $40.00 including taxes for the both of them. Insurance pays 80%. I do know that when I was on the compounded progesterone cream, I paid much more. I believe that was about $75.00 for one months supply. Insurance does not pay for that for some stupid reason.
