I've had this tingling, crawling skin sensation over my right ear off and on all day, however, I've not had a headache. I'm a bit anxious and 'out of it' right now - took a xanax about a couple of hours ago. By the way, I had been having sinus drainage a lot the past few weeks, allergies I'm guessing. Can anyone put my mind at ease and tell me it's nothing?

It might just be that strange peri symptom called "formication" I get it sometimes it feels like some little bug crawling on you.GOD bless

Oh, I think its sinuses. Mine are soooo bad right now. I went to the doctor for the same thing along with ear pain and have another sinus infection. I am so clogged, that it seems to sort of tingle around my ear and sometimes to the top of me head. It was good for two days this week, when it was colder, but started again yesterday. I am going to an ENT on Monday to get it cleared up once a for all.

Try to relax if possible. I think it really is your sinuses. ARe you stuffed up too?

Does it turn hot also? I have not had the crawling per se, but I have had it turn bright red hot and sometimes a little itching.

no, i've not had it turn hot. i have had this burning sensation from time to time over different parts of my head, though.

today it's gone so i'm not sure what was going on.

i have had alot of trouble with ear/sinus infections this year. ruptured eardrum, fluid in ear (left ear) earlier this year and it's just not been the same since. i'm not stuffed up, just the opposite. i have major drainage, which is good. i'd rather have it out than staying in.

i am guessing it is all due to sinus stuff, too. it's just made worse when the anxiety kicks in and the family tells me that i'm acting different.
