Hi All!! wondering if I can get some insight from all you wonderful ladies....I am 6 days post partial hysterectomy and just in the last 2 days I have had cold chills, hot flashes, overwhelming bouts of anxiety....is this normal even if your ovaries have been left in? I wasn't prepared for any of this.....please help....I am losing it!!

I haven't had a hyst, but I know lots of people who have, and I can tell you that it's common for your ovaries to shut down for awhile after a hysterectomy. Usually, if you are not already in menopause, your ovarian function returns after awhile. Have you checked out the Web site? I think you'll find that the symptoms you are describing are pretty common in the post-op period. I hope you are feeling better and getting lots of rest.
