I was wondering if anyone knew if xanax could cause a mild depression,,,,,I started taking xanax daily .25mg twice a day about a month ago........I also take lopressor 12.5mg for rapid heart rate and palps......so Im dont sure if one of these are causing this blah feeling (Its making me nuts).......I felt so good for 3 wks and now this...........my gyn says no to the BHRTs because I dont have enough symptoms (can you believe that?)........since I just have anxiety and adrenaline rushes she and the compounding phar. think that BHRTS will give me new problems...........so what do I do about these blahs?........I dont want it to turn into a depression............I cant take ADs........tried them before and very bad effects.........Im taking vitamin D cause I have read that it can help.....any suggestions?.........thanks for letting vent!........Valerie

Hey Valerie,

What a big bummer that you went from feeling pretty good to not!! Don't you just hate that??

Do you take B vitamins? Very important to allievate depression. Also magnesium, but be careful with that as taken orally it can cause digestive issues. I read about transdermal magnesium recently and have ordered myself some but it hasn't arrived yet. I am excited to try it.

And exercise of course - ewwww!!! - best natural anti depressant and energiser there is!!

Valerie,

Try googling Ancient Minerals Magnesium. You should find a website that sells it from there. There are several different brands out there and different prices. It could be available at your local health food store as well. It isn't here in my little Canadian town!! mad.gif I ordered it online and it is taking forever to get here! Probably held up in customs. I am so anxious to try it!!

I have been trying to take the larger dose of the D vitamins too! I forget more often than I remember though...duh! I also get tired of taking pills. **Sigh**

Dear'scaredvalerie'

Have personally never heard of Xanax causing dpression plus the amount you are taking is small. However, untreated high anxiety can lead to depression so you may need to talk to your Doctor about upping the dose under his supervision and see if you feel better.

I also take B12 plus Omega 3-6-9 which is also very beneficial.Try Yoga it is quite calming and gives all those muscles a wonderful stretch.

All the Best
Warm Wishes
Elizabeth
