My new gyn(who I like).......told me that she talked to the compounding pharmacist and they cant come up with a compound that would work for me........she said that since the only symptoms I have left are anxiety and some breast tenderness that they are pretty sure I dont need anything.........I called the pharmacist myself and talked to him.........he was very nice and repeated the same things the doc had said.........he even gave me a name and number of another compounding phar.......he asked my hormone levels estrogen <32.........prog 1.1..........and he said thatI should have a cortisol level drawn because he thinks that is what the problem is.......since I have anxiety and adrenaline "rushes".........so now Im confused on what to do.........does this sound right to anyone?.........is there anything I can take to get healther adrenal glands?..........thanks in advance...........Im 16months without a period and take xanax.25mg twice a day to keep anxiety at bay..........Valerie

Valerie, I had the blood test for adrenals and it came back normal. Is there a saliva test for it? What is your body temp? Mine seems to be low. This one gal from my hyperparathyroid told me do this- Take your temperature several times throughout the day. There are lots of theories, but I use a digital oral therm (not ear-they are not consistent enough) and just start taking it starting with first thing in the morning when you get up. The less activity for that rise temp, the better. Take it a few hours later and a few hours later and before bed too - however many times you can get it done (3-4) during the day and write it down. If you were very active, make that note. If you were sleeping during the day, make that notation. Then, see where the temps are going over several days. If your temps are 96's-97.5 or below, you likely have a thyroid issue. If they are low and bobbling all over the place and inconsistent day to day, then you definitely have an adrenal problem.

I am not sure what you can take for it. You can google what to take for adrenal fatigue. I go to see my endocrinologist next week so am going to ask again about adrenals. I have anxiety, too, and take xanax.

I highly suggest a saliva test Hormone profile 1 for women. I get mine from ZRT lab and I use BHRT for the past 2 years successfully. I'd bet big $ that you need progesterone. The test will show you one way or the other.
Find another Compouding phar sounds like he has no idea what he's doing. You can get the test without a script and do it yourself. Just order it online and they mail You YOUR results. You can see your doc then with concrete info and get what you need.

wendy God bless

I am confused as to why your Gyn would not order some form of estrogen supplementation if your level is <32? Everything I've read says your serum estradiol needs to be over 80-90 to stay above the symptom range. It is true that estrogen is "normal" in the 30-40's when you reach menopause, but not everyone can function "normally" at this level. That is why hormone replacement therapy exists!!
