Hi ladies can anyone tell me if they have had weird period symptoms like me. I have breastfed 9 kids and so my periods were never regular for all those years and mostly absent. So really didn't know what to expect now. But now with no breast feeding and being 46 I am trying to figure out my periods. I have had 3 in the past 12 months. I have period cramping sometimes but no period. When I went in 12 months ago the Dr. said my hormones were a mess and so is this normal. Am not taking any hormones or anything at this point. Just wondering having only a couple periods and then cramping and nothing is that normal?

Wow. God bless you, 9 children. Yes you are completely normal. When you get to this stage usually the first big sign is irregular cycles. That brings on a host of other symptoms because the hormones are not working in balance like usual. When you get through all that and you become post, if you are lucky you balance out again, but just on lower levels than when you were younger. I started skipping a month, then two months for about a year and half. I had horrible rage and anger symptoms as well as several others, so I decided to try the bios for now. It has helped for sure with the rage issues, but I still am not quite getting that balanced feeling with them yet and I am a bit depressed over 7lb weight gain. I believe at some point my body will adjust to it and things should get better.

Anyway, you will find lots of info on this site. Good luck to you.
