HI, Ladies: Ever since I had a bladder infection a few months ago (first in 7 years!), I notice (especially when standing or squatting at a public toilet) that I tend to pee a divided stream, especially at the start. It doesn't matter whether there's a big or small volume involved. I looked at my urethra area with a magnifying mirror, and see what looks like "access" skin blobs (almost like skin tags) around the opening. I guess those could be blocking/diverting my stream. (Also, I'm still on low-dose antibiotic. My other infection symptoms are doing much better.) It's possible my pelvic floor muscles are tight as well, due to stress and the infection. Anyone else with this? Anything I can do to help? (I already drink lots of water.) huh.gif

Thanks so much!

I can't address the divided stream, but I was interested in the "squatting" you mentioned. I read a long time ago that a standing or squatting posture while urinating (for women, of course!) has been linked to bladder infections. Apparently, your bladder does not void properly unless you're sitting. Rather than standing to pee, perhaps it's better to line the seat with toilet paper or those protective disposable seat covers. Just a thought...
