Is there anyone else here on zoloft or ever been on it? If so, my question is this, I am taking 50 mg a day right now but my doc wants me to increase to 100 mg per day because my anxiety is just disgusting and seems out of this world some days, did any of you feel any discomfort physical or mental when changing up to 100 mg from 50 mg a day?

I wish I could explain it better but I have been on 50 mg of zoloft for over 5 years now and am scared to death to move up to 100 mg even though the doc says that I will not have a problem. Isnt it stupid? I am just scared that I will have some sort of crazy reaction. UGH!!

I nearly had a heart attack a little while ago because I could not remember if I took my dose this morning and starting counting the pills then could not remember what day I started the new prescription (no not same day as presription date) and so I took one to be sure. Now I can only sit and wonder (panic) if I did the right thing. I hate anxiety and I hate drugs!! It seems funny to say that now.

Thanks for whatever information you all can give me.

Love,
J

A few years ago my doctor put me on 50mg of Zoloft. I did not do well on it. I was nauseous 24/7. He insisted I stay on it, but I finally decided to stop on my own 5 weeks after starting it. I couldn't see myself living on saltines the rest of my life.

Of course, everyone is different but it seems to me that doubling the dose is kind of drastic. Can he increase it to 75 for a few weeks and see how you do with that?

I had that experience years ago with Prozac - at some point the dosage of the AD you are on 'poops out' and does not work and I think that is why your anxiety is off the charts. you either have to up the dose, switch AD's, or go off them. Sometimes upping the dose works, sometimes not. If you go on another one, which many people do, it can also 'poop out
and then you are back to square one.

I agree with Bookie, you could try a slow increase and see if that helps. Good Luck Stitch!
