i have been having some really werid dreams lately. what about you girls. short but sweet my last one was i was passing out and thought i was dying and my family just sat on the couch and did not help me. do you have dreams when you think you are dying. i am not comfy about going to sleep now, sounds silly i know, but is was only a dream but it seemed to be so real. lindy

lindy: I don't a good answer for you, but I'm hoping someone else does. I have very weird, vivid dreams every single night. I often have nightmares...since meno started it's gotten worse. There are nights I actually avoid going to sleep! If anyone knows of a way to stop my dreams, I'd love to hear it...

I also have those weird dreams and sometimes nightmares. I've had everything from seeing UFO's and aliens, to loosing one of my children to something terrible. Once in a while I also have wild sex dreams. In those, I'm always about 25 years old and in great shape! That was a LONG time ago!!

Funny you should mention this...One night this week, I had a dream involving my death, either I was already dead or was dying. I also had a dream about a a very smart and cunning man that was killing women.

I have had during the last year several really disturbing, nightmarish dreams that have been truly bizarro.

I haven't tried to analyze these dreams too much, but I probably should because I think our dreams send us messages about what is going on in our subconscious. For instance, dreaming about one's death usually indicates that some part of us is going away (dying off) and another part of us will grow (be born.) So, a death dream may not necessarily be negative or be a premonition of our death. But I do believe dreams can be prophetic.

That your family sat there and didn't help you seems to be more of the focus of the dream. Like maybe you are in distress and feel ignored by your family or wish they would comfort your more. Or it could be a simple recognition that you need your family.

You already know the answer to your dream and its meaning, what do you think it meant?

But yes, the sex dreams are another phenom in meno/dreamland. Very, how shall we say it? Powerful.

Sometimes I wake up and dont know for sure if the things in my dreams were real and happened or it was a dream, luckily I can ask my daughter and she normally knows

oh lindy, ARE YOU KIDDING? ..lol...I have such bad dreams all the time, that i'm now beginning to fear going to sleep!
this is crazy! Ever since peri kicked in full swing, i've had this. When i'm lucky, they are just "weird", pointless dreams.....but so many nights, they are outright nightmares! Yes, they do seem unbelieveably REAL! Where do they come from?!!!!!

I get some really vivid dreams. Some times they are just strange and meaningless and other times they are absolutely terrifying. I dreamed once, that I killed someone. It is was so vivid and terrifying that it took me days and days to get passed it.

It will get better.

I had a sex dream once about Richard Simmons!! Can you even believe that?!?!? OMG!! But I was using the nicotine patch when that happened. I later found that dreams (or in my sex dream case- NIGHTMARES!! ) were common when on the patch.

I think certain medications can cause dreams/nightmares. If you are taking any medication you might want to do a search and see what you find.

Sometimes I take valerian and it can cause very vivid dreams,However if it gives me dreams about Dan Rather or Richard Simmons I think I will stop taking it.

hormones is my guess where they come from. i have weird ones before but that last one was about me dyeing and that is why it scared me so bad. i do remember looooong time ago now that you mention it that i too did not want to go to sleep because of what i would dream about. forgot about that until you said that. ty for your words. lindy

i've been getting the weird gamut of dreams since this whole thing started, but it has gotten worse over the last couple of years. it runs in & out, like everything else. some of it is nightmare/awful stuff. sometimes it is fun & sexy or alarming in that same way. i don't think it's anything to read too much into. unless your dreams resemble:
