PLEASE tell me you experience dizziness with peri!!
After what I went thru yesterday I need yet MORE reassurance. I have CFS and had a problem with my eyesight yesterday and had to go see the eye doctor for some pretty intense visual disturbances.
Nothing wrong.....just the nature of the beast.

Okay, so do you guys expeience this???????? I'm sitting watching TV and then all of a sudden it's like the floor drops out from under me and I get this wavering, sinking, dropping feeling. My head sorta feels all buzzy and prickly afterwards. It doesn't last long but I feel a bit unsteady for awhile after it happens?

anyone?

Help?

Peri Peri is so scary!!!

Thanks in advance,
Sue

Hi Sue

I can relate to the horrible dizziness. I have low blood pressure so I have to be careful getting up too fast especially when I'm bending over. However the other day I was at my parents house getting ready to leave and before I could bend over to put my shoes on a wave of dizziness hit me. I sort of wobbled from side to side and felt very faint. It just came out of nowhere and was quite scary. After about a minute or so it passed. My mother said she suffered from them on occasion and not to be too concerned.

Take care
Tara

Oh yes, the feeling of the floor dropping out from under you. It is awful. I sends me into a panic. I have a sinus infection now and it adds to the dizziness, I could take xanax round the clock if i let myself. It is scary and does take a while to regroup.

Good luck and feel better.

Very common!! I have had it too, lots! Off and on for YEARS! It isn't so bad now....I hated it, scared the crap out of me. Our reaction to it is worse than the dizzies themselves, I think....becuz as "Enough" said, we tend to panic when we feel dizzy like that. I would get dizzy laying in bed!!! Yes, Peri is scarey!!

Yes! Scared the pants off me too. It slowly passed and doesn't happen too often now. But for about two years I was a mess. Couldn't shop. Scared to drive. Barely made it through a working day. Now mostly I notice the dizzies come somewhere near PMS. Sometimes precurser to a migraine. When it very first started I remember I couldn't go to the movies - the big screen motion and sound set me a-spin. Sitting at a stop light - I couldn't focus on the motion of the cars going by - or ick! Dizzy! The worst first attack I remember I was standing at the counter of a department store and wooooosh, like you said - the floor just drops. Left me shakey and panicked. To this day, I'm still very uncomfortable in this store.

Hang in - The dizzy girls are here for you - Chatty

Thanks to all of you for the replies. I just had another "drop out" sitting here at the computer. It's the weirdest thing. I think I'll be careful and try not to drive too much until this passes. You all gave me some good input, thank you!

I do have a migraine today, so maybe that's why it's occuring often.

THanks again!

Hi Sue:

Yes I get this too. It was about the second or third symptom I noticed. It has been happening to me for years but I have noticed that the length and severity has lessened over the last few months. There is light at the end of the tunnel.

I notice that after the "drop out"...my head feels funny...and I'm a bit disoriented. Maybe anxiety causes it? Do you guys feels this way, like your head is a bit pins and needles or numb-ish?
I feel like a *slow headed* person afterwards....like I can't think correctly.

I get migraines and have a whopper of one right now......but I as just wondering in general. This is happening a LOT to me right now. Maybe sinuses, too. I have a sinus infection, but have these little spells when I'm not sick, too.

Thanks...and thanks for the replies.....nice to know this won't last for *freakin'* ever!!!!!

Too much to deal with, huh? lol

YIKES!
Okay, dizzy spells for 4 days in a row. Headache..and my b/p is elevated.....not majorly, but elevated. I have a cuff here at home and monitor my own b/p. I don't have HBP, but it does fluctuate due to hormones I guess.

So I'm fairly new to this "dizzy" stuff.....
I made an appointment with my GP for tomorrow to rule out an inner ear infection.....

So here's my question for you..PLEASE respond and help me out. Does this sound familiar? I don't feel well today.....in addition to my bp being elevated, my hand is spazzaming, I feel a dull headache and have NO clarity. Then the dizzy thing hit me and the room feel out from under me which makes me feel like a zombie for a bit afterwards.

Is this hormones? Help,...I'm getting scared because my mind is going into Peri Anxiety territory now.

THanks in advance,

Hi ...just wanted to say the vertigo / dizzy spells I had when I was 42 and in peri. It scared the hell out of me. It came out of the blue, one night before I went to bed, in the dark I felt the room spin. I thought I might be getting the flu. The next day I could not drive, it felt like the road was tilted...REALLY tilted!!!! I went to an ear doctor, she said temporary vertigo, no mention of hormones. This lasted about three weeks. At the same time ,my anxiety was THROUGH the roof!!! I thought I was losing my mind, honestly I thought I heard voices and I could tell no one or they would cart me off. I felt sick with anxiety.......and after the three weeks it went away like it never was. I honestly think it is a common phase of hormonal changing. have not had it since, I am 46 now. Hope this helps...Onika

Dear 'guitarplayer Sue

Have suffered also from temporary vertigo on a number of occassions due to inner ear infection from the constant sinus infections. It is scary and headache often goes along with it.You will probably be given an anti-biotic to clear the infection.Meanwhile try to rest as much as possible and lots of liquids and soups are good.

Am going myself to the ENT soon as my sinuses are driving me crazy. This congested feeling does give rise to anxiety so try not to worry friend and let us know how you go on.I do believe that screwed up Hormones do play a large part as you often read of ladies feeling congested, headachy and dizzy.

Warm Wishes
Elizabeth

Hi and thanks for your replies!

Yep......the sinus infection from HELL. LOL I saw my doctor yesterday and I had a lot of wax plugging up my ear, too...so he fixed that, gave me antibiotics and I'll now keep this short as I have a MASSIVE headache....and need to go lie down.

CFS is in full effect which doesn't help.

Thanks to you for helping me out. I can't wait when all this is over...the CFS is annoying and painful enough....

Hugs,
Sue

PS excuse typos...i'm hurtin' from the headache...

I'm not sure if this is the same thing, but over the last few days I have noticed i am 'light headed' more than 'dizzy' but I also had a plugged up ear until I used some ear drops and now my ear is clear but the light headiness is still there...it's very disconcerting!!

I am finding it hard to focus on the computer/tv or anything....I hope it goes away soon as I will be worried about driving....and I need to be able to drive!

Hi, Everyone...

I know this is an old topic, but I had to respond. I've been having this happen too. For me, it seems cyclic. A couple days after ovulation and off and on before I start my period.

It seems to be the worse at night. Especially around midnight/1 am. Have any of you been woke out of sound sleep with the dizzy sensation? It happened again last night. It's like I woke up gasping for a second and everything started spinning, the I got hot, then I started shaking, then I got cold. Those internal vibrations don't help either...I get those really bad in my arms.

The dizziness doesn't seem to last too long, but it sure is scary while it's there. Sometimes, I have to get up and move around when this happens, even though I feel like I'm walking sideways...literally feel like I'm tilting and want to grab a chair or something. I also have to turn on some lights. Being in a dark room makes it worse. I usually turn on lights in my family room and pace around until it passes. Sometimes I HAVE to go outside...like it's not an option. I need to air.

I too have had dizziness while in the car. Sitting at stop lights...other cars passing by, etc...will set it off and I really have to focus or I feel like I'll lose it.

I feel like I can handle most of it....the hot, the cold, the shakes, the inner vibrations (the list is endless) but the dizziness....that's scary. A couple times I felt like I might pass out. I never do though.

I'm 41 and feel I've been going through this for a number of years now, but over the past year(ish) it seems to be getting pretty intense. I don't like the idea of another 5-10 years of waiting for it to be over. That's a bit overwhelming. ohmy.gif

Thanks for listening....
Shawna
