Hi Ladies!

I have been going thru peri for about 3 years now, I guess. Haven't had a period since April 2007, but have some spotting and bleeding from time to time. During the peri period, I developed terrible anxiety, panic attacks, etc. Was just reading about the nervousness, etc., cause by progestin. I'm currently on cenestin and medroxyprogesterone (5 mg.) daily for 2-3 years now. Could this be the culprit behind my anxiety and nerve problems??? I have been on lexapro and ativan for the last several years, too but lately, it seems harder to control. I hardly leave the house unless I have to!!

I go to several different doctors, but they each treat different things. Has anyone had this problem with medroxyprogesterone? It seems like we have to diagnose ourselves during this time!! Could my nerve problem be the result of this med? ANY experience would be appreciated!! Also, does anyone know what would happen if I just quit taking it for a while to see if my nerves get better? THANKS!

Hi Ladies!
Through I might add today that medroxprogesterone is the generic for Provera! Maybe this may be familiar to some of you! Any advice?

Hi joette: Hmm, I always thought progesterone calmed your nerves. Maybe I'm wrong? If anything, I would think the antidepressant could cause anxiety...but if you've been taking the same meds at the same strength for over 2 years now, I doubt they would suddenly cause you to feel more anxious...
