I hope I am posting this on the correct board. I am using Prempro .625 tablet once a day for my menopausal symptoms. However, I have been having vaginal atrophy, irritation, dryness, and painful intercourse. So my doctor put my also on Premarin vaginal cream, twice a wk, at 1 gram (.625) at bedtime.
Last night in the middle of the night I started to have nervousness, anxiety, racing heart, and hot flashes, and some stomach discomfort. Could the vaginal cream be causing this. I just started taking it a few days ago.

I had a hysterectomy and was put on the cream. Those were my exact symptoms and I quit using it. I actually used if for a few months because I couldn't believe the jitteriness and wired feeling was coming from the cream. But there was a definite pattern (I only was supposed to use it 2 times a week, and each monring after I'd used it, I'd get the symptoms you described. As far as quitting it, so far so good, but I didn't have any of the vaginal problems your are using it to treat. I will say that I only got those symptoms on the mornings after I'd used the cream.

For sharing your story, at least I know I'm not alone with these side effects, I think I will discontinue the Premarin Cream.

How much of hormone vaginal cream gets into a woman's system? Does it raise your risk for breast cancer just like taking HRT orally? It seems like there is conflicting reports. Thank you, Hope
