Hi all,

I managed to get one tube of progesterone cream from a friend on the US a while ago, but would like to know how those on the board from the UK get their supplies. I remember from the old board that Jools got some from either Jersey or Guernsey, and there was the possibility of some from South Africa. Since I last posted to the old boards I've been prescribed raw thyroid and adrenal glandulars from the US by a Nutritionist in London, to help out with the many weird and wonderful symptoms I have, but would like to give progesterone cream another try. If anyone knows how to obtain an effective make of the cream I'd love to hear about it. Many thanks,

Annemarie

I think there's a German brand as well ,that I've heard of some women in the UK purchasing. Since I'm here in the US, I haven't paid a whole lot of attention to this, but rummaging around in my files I found an old note from a correspondant who said she had been successful mail-ordering from the US and importing it for personal use. Have you looked into that? Also she mentioned (Board Administrator has removed link to commercial site) Natural Progesterone Information Service]. I have no idea who or what they are, but again, it might be worth looking into. She said she eventually ended up with one of the "phone consult" doctors, knowing it was not a good route for health care but acknowledging it was an effective way to get around the system. Sigh.

I've been thinking about adding a page about non-US progesterone sources to some hormone webpages I maintain, and I suspect that Dearest would be interested in having that info archived here as well. Any other ladies from the UK, Australia and other more-regulated places want to share their tips on how they manage to get progesterone?

I sent AnneMarie a message to answer her query, but I will happily share it here as well! I get my cream from South Africa - it can be bought mail order through their website (NatPro), and I think it's a good cream. Its 2000mg progesterone per 2oz tube, and is £19.00 per tube BUT you have to buy 3 tubes together, which makes it £57.00. I have also used Serenity, which you can order from Guernsey through Wellspring Trading Co.  Serenity is £29.99 a 2oz pot, and contains 1000mg progesterone. so appears to be not such good value, but you can buy a pot at a time (better if it turns out you don't want to carry on using it). Serenity also make a triple phtoestrogen cream as well. If anyone is interested in addresses or telephone numbers, do email or message me. There is also a UK based Natural Progesterone Information Service, which is not linked to any company that sells the cream, but has gathered all sorts of information and lists of places where you can import the cream from. I can let you have their address too, if you're inetrested. Hope this helps everyone!

I got my first supply of AIM Renewed Balance through one of their agents in Victoria, Australia but they now seem to have disappeared.  I then got PhytoProlief via the Internet.  After that a lady in another Australian State sent me an e-mail saying she could get AIM through a contact in US but she had to buy six jars, so I bought three jars from her.

The other alternative is to get a prescription from a doctor which is easier said than done.  In the whole State of South Australia I have only found ONE doctor who will prescribe it and he's not exactly close to where I live.  I have enquired through many, many sources, including compounding pharmacies and they all come up with this same doctor.  Even then, the prescription has to be sent to a compounding pharmacy interstate (seems to be none in South Oz) so I would receive it by mail.  I haven't followed this course yet as I still have a supply of cream.

I've recently been to a new doctor about something else as my prevoius one was next to useless and didn't even approve of my visiting a physiotherapist, so when I next visit the new doctor, I might just see if he knows about prescribing natural progesterone cream.

Sorry I'm not much help.  It's either via the Internet or as happened to me, someone in Australia contacting me after they saw my name on a Board such as this, or finding a knowledgeable doctor who can prescribe NPC.
