With the Dr. Lee books, the push has been for women to use natural progesterone in place of estrogen type hormones. His theory, that the progesterone drops to zilch during menopause but estrogen only in half, suggests women take natural progesterone to relieve their menopausual symptoms. I wonder if any of you mature women, postal women have actually done this and found it successful?

Please respond with your actual experiences if you have done it, have tried it and what you learned. THANKS!

Maybe I posted this under the wrong age group. If ANY of you of ANY age used natural progesterone and would like to comment on its effects, please do so.

THANKS

Yes I've been prescribed natural progesterone (cream) but don't supplement with estrogen systemically but do use localised estrogen (estriol) vaginally to combat vaginal atrophy. From what I can see this is very much what Dr. Lee was recommending. I've been using progesterone cream for about 21/22 months. I use it on the post menopausal pattern of 21 days on the cream with a 7 day break as it's 10/11 months since my last period and my periods were infrequent before that. I feel very well on this regimen. However I also take phytoestrogens and other supplements recommended by the doctor. The only remaining symptoms that I have are a few mild hot flushes in the evenings that last about 4 minutes each. I usually ignore them. Insomnia, panic attacks, anxiety, depression and palpitations are all gone - although I don't know how much this is due to the regime and how much it might be due to the fact that I am probably now post menopausal.
