I was one of those that said I would always age graciously, forget any assistance from a needle, I'll be proud of these lines, creases and wrinkles.................Well, I'm still proud but darn it, I want them filled!!!
I have those deep creases between my eyebrows from all those years of squinting while lying in the sun. They really stand out because the rest of my face has held-up quite well, so these creases are that much more apparent. Does that make any sense?
Has anyone had experience with any of the fillers that are now available? If so, I would greatly appreciate feedback.
Hugs,
Karen

I know I said I wasn't going to post anymore, but I'll answer your question.

I found botox to work quite well for the 11 between the eyes. The HA fillers are generally used for the nasal folds, lips and other creases. I've used restylane and Juvederm, I found restylane to work the best. Everyone is different with how long fillers last. Resylane lasted about 8 months where Juvederm disappeared in 3.
Good luck! You could email or call me if you have any more questions about this stuff.

Karen,
I am gonna spill a little secret, I am going to get my brow botoxed on Sept 19th!

I have mean wrinkles that make me look mad all the time, from squinting...years of not wearing sunglasses!! I know better now

, but too late to prevent the wrinkles. And just for the record, I have tried EVERYTHING to get rid of them, every product you can buy...nothing works. I figured with all the attention my poor face has gotten this year (skin cancer then mole removal, and more mole removal coming) that I was gonna treat my face to something that made it look better.
AND I just might try some restylane around the mouth and in the lips!!! Still throwing that idea around. My sister is getting restylane on the 19th, yes we are going together! So if it turns out well for her, I might do it too. I know, crazy, vain, whats the point, why not age gracefully, blah blah blah. I figure why not do something for myself that makes me feel better about myself.

CONGRATULATIONS Floater, I think that's a FANTASTIC idea, you more than deserve it! By the way, I didn't know you had gone through that, I'm sorry, however; it sounds like they got everything

I go for my yearly checks at the Dermatologist.
That's exactly why I have those creases as well, being out in the sun without sunglasses, who knew?! I really didn't think that it would catch-up to ME! I can't wait to hear how it goes on the 19th, I'm so excited for you (and your sister). I'll be thinking of you that day and anxiously awaiting an update:)
We go through so much as a woman, most of it is just out of our control (hence the PS forum)!. Not a darn thing we can do about it, just suffer through............Now if there's something that we can control with just a brief visit to the doctor and a prick here and there, I say why not?! During this time especially, we need to do things to make us feel good:)
Can't wait to hear!

For something that's topical but not Botox results, I read in a magazine that a product in Bath and Body Works by Wexler (red bottle) works to fill in lines temporarily. I haven't tried it. I think you can sample it right in their stores.

I get botox once a year and I love it. I keep it to once a year because the facial muscles can atrophy with back to back treatments.
Floater,
Have fun! Such a nice way to treat yourself with real results.

Karen, I have done both botox and resty. I love the botox. It not only took care of my forehead creases and crows feet but also seemed to diminish the bags under my eyes. I didn't have very good results with the resty. I have scarring around my mouth from bad acne as a teenager and the filler kinda made my mouth area look lumpy and I had bad brusing from it. I also found it painful to have done. But, the caveat is, we are all so differrent, so I say go for it and try it! I will do the botox again. It's been a year and I'm due! I'm also considering having a mild glycolic peel.

Hi I had Restylane or Perlane, cannot remember which done on my facio labial bits at Easter and Botox in the corners of my mouth to perk them up. The Botox lasted a few monthsbut the fillers are just starting now to wear off and I am due to be redone in October. May have Botos in the brow area too whilst I am at it.
For overall youthful perk up I can recommend the L'oreal Wrinkle Decrease Serum, tow squirts each day and people keep telling me I look younger - it kind of softens what you have, refines your skin and gives you a glow.
So too does Yoga!

Thank you ladies for all your replies, it has definitely given me food for thought.
K2, thank you for the information about Wexler at B & B. She has been on Oprah a few times and I couldn't wait to try her line (I didn't know it was out all ready). Last night I drove to B & B and bought the starter kit, there are some great products in there. I can't wait to see if there are any positive results. I'll be sure to let you all know what I think. Patricia Wexler is famous for her non-surgical facelifts, she is booked six months in advance.

You are neither crazy or vain!I would love to have a couple of procedures but am worried after seeing a Programme about things that 'went wrong' so being a bit of a scaredy cat was terrified.Having said that do have friends that have had some minor procedures and look very refreshed
So Good Luck,my friend Floater
Keep us posted with the results

Dottie! I used to do the same thing with the bangs, but I noticed recently that the bangs cast a dark shadow over my eyes...enhancing the circles around them and making me look older and more tired!! I surely don't need that!! I am now sweeping them off to one side, sort of. The eyes look brighter but now all the wrinkles show!! Grrrr!!!

Dear Ladies
My husband an engineer, said that he had plenty of soft cement he could give me for filling in the caverns!Delightful.Said it would be a lot cheaper than Botox and that he could mix the consistency to suit my skin tone. But I answered "What do I do when the cracks show!"He kept his humour to himself then.
Sharing all these beauty secrets is fun
Here is to all us lovely ladies!Just downed a glass of cold water as cannot tolerate Alcohol
Best wishes

Seriously, I use a yellow color foundation for the trouble areas and it seems to do the trick pretty well. I also alternate for months between bangs and an off the forehead hair style.
I'm not one to fuss too much about these types of things but I do like to look good and smell good.

I love all the scented, nice smelling lotions and things and I figure if I'm dressed up nice, neat and smell good and feel good about myself...that's what works for me.

I started using Retin-A for an unrelated skin issue. Much to my surprise the crease between the brows went away. What a difference! I suppose if the crease were deeper, then I'd have to go with something stronger. Go for it Karen - I'm sure you'll be very happy with the results. Good luck!

I loved my experience with botox. I have those same lines from squinting in the sun. Botox lasted about 6 months. I also tried fillers before and it didn't work because the muscles between the eye brows are really strong. Botox worked like a dream.
