Hi all ,

i posted a few days ago, about tingling in the fingers, and aching in the forearm (well, and upper arm too) on my LEFT arm,,,,that's alwasy my favorite side for problems. Does anyone here have carpel tunnel syndrome? If so, could you please tell me your experiences with this? I really would appreicate it. I have not been formally diagnosed yet, i have an appt. on Oct. 8th, but i've done a lot of research, and that MAY be the culprit, i don't know. The first three fingers on my left hand, tingle. The wrist aches on and off, and then, the forearm, of the same left arm, seems a bit swollen, both on top of the arm (where the hair grows) and the underneath part of the arm. Also, it would seem, that the muscles in the upper arm, between the elbow and shoulder are aching too! GEEZ! It's always on my left side! Also, the left arm feels achey ,and HEAVY....does any of this ring a bell for ANYTHING?????

thank you ladies, so much!

Yes, I have Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. I'm a musician and also spent a good part of my life as a secretary so I work a lot with my hands. I get the numbness in both hands...up into my wrists. Wrists can hurt or not...depending. I also tend to get numbness in my pinkie and ring fingers of my right hand which will turn into an ache/pain at my wrist and it goes up into my elbow.

You can get wrist braces to keep your wrists from bending and keeps the nerve in your wrist from becomming irritated. I've been told not to overwork my hands but in my line of work it's almost impossible...and I might as well not be alive if I can't play guitar. It's my life.

See a doctor if it hurts really bad and see what he has to say. Maybe it's just hormones or a pinched nerve and not carpal tunnel? I saw a neurologist who did nerve conduction tests.

Oh the joys of getting "not younger" blink.gif wink.gif

Hang in there....I've had my hand and arm so numb that I had to use my other hand to reach over and shake the blood and life back into my numb arm!!!!

And it all comes and goes......
But it seems with peri, it's a different (but scary and worrying) symptom everyday.

Hi darling, I have carpal tunnel and have spent many many sleepless nights walking the floor with pain and numbness in my hands. I told my chiropractor about it and he would adjust my wrists and I'm tellin ya, that helped me more than anything. I have also used the wrist brace, but sometimes they seemed to make it worse. The dr. also gave me some exercises to do and some sort of contraption thing that I bought, but I found that that also made it worse, so I quit that. I could not go without sleep any longer. I have also had to learn what I can and cannot do and I have adjusted, but if I ever get an opportunity to have surgery, I will have it done.

You take care and I hope you feel better soon.

My Darling I had carpel tunnel so bad while pregnant with my 2nd son that I am absolutely convinced peri and meno make it worse too. I couldn't even hold a knife to butter my toast in the morning cos my hands and arms were so stiff and weak. Driving was hard too as my arm and hand would get all tingly and pins and needly from holding it on the steering wheel.

I have read a little extra vit B6 is good for carpel tunnel but not too much as it can be toxic in large doses.
