hi ladies,

for the past few days, my LEFT (as usual) arm has not been in good shape. I didn't really lay on it any more than usual when i sleep, but I notice my fingers are sort of tingling, pins and needles, then the forearm both on top and underneath, are a little swollen and ache, then, up in the middle of the upper arm, the muscles ache! What the heck?
I am a little past MID cycle right now, and this started a few days ago. I wonder if this is hormonal. I noticed that swelling on the upper and under part of my left forearm about a month ago, it's not always there either, but can ache. If I take Aleve for it, it seems to diminish, and stop the ache. Maybe an allergic reaction? Hormones? Plus, like I said, the muscles in the upper arm, are achey too! IT'S ALWAYS ON MY LEFT SIDE! geez!

anyone else with anything even similar to this?

Hi Mydarling,

So sorry you are experiencing that. Anxiety can do a lot, not sure if that could be it or not. Always good to ask your doc, that's what they are for! Just wanted to say "hi" and I hope you feel better soon. You are not alone. Much love and God Bless you!

My darling do you take b-vitamins-I noticed they help my tingling and numb feelings.Anxiety can cause this,as well as hormones.GOD-bless

I have it too, not only in my arms but sometimes my feet. In my case I know it is hormonal, I still had it when I was trying AD's and I didn't have it while I was on BCP's.

hi everyone,

thanks for responding! Well as far as Vitamins are concerned, I do take multi-vits, and mega doses of Vic.C ....
so, maybe I'll add on a Vit. B complex as extra then, it's worth a try. I know anxiety can do so much!!! I wouldn't be surprised at all. Right now i am in this constant RIDICULOUS state of panic, because a few weeks ago, i discovered a small little mole looking thing on the underpart of the upper LEFT (yep that's the tingling arm) arm. It's pretty small, even colord, and so forth....but I know you all know that immediatley, health anxiety kicks in, and my mind was off and running, thinking i had skin cancer! UGH! dry.gif Well, as you know, once THAT THOUGHT GETS A FOOTHOLD, you're sanity flies out the window, and into complete panic and overdrive! OH my...lol...i have been looking at that thing all day and night, and had all my family memebers CONSTANTLY doing the same, just to see if there'd be any change at all, and there never really is, but in MY mind....it's PANICVILLE ..so, yeah, i made an appt. with my dr. for Oct.8th (the earliest he could see me) and i'm just going to have the darn thing taken off, I can't go on like this. But as you can guess, the anxiety is through the roof....i'm living on xanax! So, I do suppose anxiety could be the culprit. However...i also noticed that my wrist can sometimes also ache, and don't forget that forearm swelling, both on top and under the arm(on the forearm, bet. the elbow and wrist). I was looking up carpel tunnel syndrome, it SORT OF fits, maybe. Apparently, with that carpel tunnel thing, it makes the first three fingers of your hand, tingle, and makes the wrist area ache which i do have, on and off. I dont' know if it causes slight swelling of the forearm though. I think i'll make another post about that, and see who may also have carpel tunnel.

In the meantime ladies, thank you all again for your encouragement and support! I sorely need it!

Sincerely, MyDarling

Have the same problem and in my left arm too. Had all kinds of testing, nerve & muscle. Even had two cortisone shots in my left shoulder which bought a lot of relief when it was really hurting.

I definitively relate it to peri and feel my nerve ending are so sensitive anything thing I do with my left arm will bring on a flare! Vacuuming, holding something for a long period in that hand, then my whole arm will go numb.
It doesn’t take much when my peri is acting up!
Try some heat and just try if you can to ignore it!

I also get severe painful muscle knots in the area of my left shoulder blades.

My darling the bump you mentioned could be a skin tag. I got some when I started having peri symptoms.Just google skin tags and see if it is similar! GOD-bless

Me too me too!!!! But both of my hands are aching this week for some reason. Hadn't had this is a long time as taking flaxseed oil capsules seemed to help with any finger aching. I went to an acupuncturist last week and she stuck a needle in each hand in the fleshy part between index finger and thumb and ever since then I have had my aching hands. She must have upset something there cos as soon as she removed the needles my hands felt stiff, so I will definitely tell her to FIX it this week when I go back as it has been causing havoc with my health anxiety. I am a hairstylist and can't have aching hands. My shoulders and arms also ache but this is just an occupational hazzard for me and I also have carpel tunnel. I am also past mid cycle about day 17 I think so my Progesterone is climbing again and it has been rather high of late (from blood tests) and high P can cause sore joints etc, actually high P causes similar symptoms to when it's low.

And why is everything always worse on the left side I wonder dry.gif
