I'm 40 and convinced that I'm in perimenopause. Have many of the symptoms - night sweats, palpitations, anxiety, headaches, upset stomach - the list goes on and on. Am currently taking prozac to help ease symptoms. I went off of it in April at the suggestion of my doctor and could not handle it. So, now trying to stabilize and find the right dose!!! Will see gyn in a few weeks and have hormones checked.. Anyway, sorry to ramble but does anyone get / have a metallic taste in their mouth? This peri stuff is not any fun - any suggestions or advice?!

Dear LoveMyFamily - LOVE your name wub.gif

I would have your family physican run a complete blood work on you. You MAY be experiencing some sort of kidney problem. OR...it may be something else....different vitamins and or medication can cause this 'metallic' taste in your mouth as well.

Good Luck and PLEASE keep us posted...and YES - Menopause is NOT for the weak of heart..that is why only women go through it....Men could NEVER handle MEN-O-Pause....MEN...who are we kidding? tongue.gif laugh.gif

YES!! I have that, too!! I just got it today while sitting here at my computer. I do find that it happens along with intense feelings of anxiety, dizziness, a sinking pit-iin-the-stomach feeling, and shakiness. It's nuts. I'm only 44!!!!!!!!!!

Hi,

Just want to ease your fear and let you know that I have definitely had the metallic taste in my mouth and I have two other friends in peri who have had the same. I have had all checked and it seems to be just another bad thing to deal with and may be associated with reflux (from peri). Hang in there, don't worry.
