Hi all

thought I would share this with you - its the only positive thing I've had for what feels like forever so I'm gonna try to hang on to it

When I was leaving the doctors surgery today a very very old lady was approaching the door with her wheeled walking frame so I went in front and opened the door for her, she thanked me and I went to the next door and also opened that one, she then said 'oh to be as young as you again' and it hit home I am really not that old she was probably twice my age and still getting about, albeit with a frame, but really what have I got to complain about

It seems so minor and insignificant when I try to write it down but it was a real show stopper for me

just hope I can hang on to the feeling of actually being young again

Exactly...it's all relative....and to grap ahold of that women's response is key: it's not the age that matters, it's the quality and if I'm 50 or 60 but happy (we're thinking in the post meno days timeframe biggrin.gif ) and in good health and can wake up each morning with love and hope, should the year I was born have that much relevance?????

NOPE!!!!!

We just said our good byes to our 96 and a half year old grandma on my hubbies side in January and she was doing leg lifts in her home a week before her downslide and tickled pink how many she could do! tongue.gif

She's my honor..... biggrin.gif

I was complaining to my elderly neighbor who is 84 about my impending 54th birthday. She replied "oh, honey, you're just a teenager!" That made my day.

Oh I love this thread. It does make you stop and think doesn't it? Thanks for sharing that wonderful story.
