I started on a b/c pill that was mainly progestin. I was so sick and depressed and had horrible anxiety attacks. I decided it was best for me to stop them. I feel myself coming off of them but I feel like I will never go back to what I had before. Like my normal hormonal balance before these pills. Even though that was off it felt better that how I felt on the pills. Did I ruin what was there???I am having a hard time urinating, I feel like the progestin made me lose my muscles down there. I think I may have needed estrogen instead. Anyone else with this problem?

Hi there Butterflygirl (love that name)

You most certainly need estrogen - why on earth did you take a progestin only pill - they only give it to women who are very sensitive to estrogen and also have problems with clots, strokes, etc. Try Allesse (generic name Aviane) it is a very low dose bcp that will make you feel wonderful

I too had problems with the progesterone in my bcp.I was taking a combination, but it had too much progesterone for me personally.I was depressed, and had no energy-cried a lot.I switched to a pill with less progesterone and I feel much better-and yes you need the estrogen!!I am on sprintec, which is on the 9.00 plan at wal-mart-added bonus!!Hope you feel better-GOD-bless
