For the last two months I've been dealing with some serious hot flash and sweating issues. I'm having what seems like continual flashes. Lately I've noticed that I've also been having dizzy spells along with the flashes and sweats. It's not dizzy, like the room is spinning, but more of a very lightheaded I need to sit down feeling. My head begins to feel weird and I feel like my eyes are crossing. Then when the flash stops and the profuse sweating subsides I feel "normal" again.
I'm not sure if this totally related to my hormones or my diet. I've added Splenda to my diet lately, in hopes of shedding these pounds. I know the Splenda thing sounds weird, but I really wonder if it could be a factor since I have read that certain foods will trigger hot flashes.
Could these seemingly continual hot flashes be hormone related, another dip in my estrogen level, or the Splenda in my diet?

THATS HAPPEN TO ME SEVERAL TIMES AND IT IS SCARY BRINGS ON THE ANXIETY. I WOULD GET ALL HOT AND SWEATY THEN FEEL OFF BALANCE, WEAK, ANXIOUS AND FEELING LIKE I AM SINKING AND GONNA PASS OUT. I LIE DOWN DRINK SOMETHING COLD IN ABOUT HALF HOUR I AM SHAKING LIKE A LEAF FROM BEING COLD THEN I HAVE TO PEE EVERY FIVE MINUTES. ALSO MY HUBBY SAID MY FACE GETS BLOTCHY LOOKING AND EYES WEIRD. THIS ALSO MIMIC ANXIETY. SO I AM ASSUMING ITS A HOTLFASH OR ANXIETY. TAKE CARE.

I have the exact same response to the hotflashes that lizardlover describes. To be truthful, when the hotflashes started years ago I thought it was panic attacks until my doc said nope not at all.
I hope that you are feeling better about it.

Thanks ladies

. This might be a coincident, but I did not have any Splenda today and I've not had one of those dizzy, eyes crossing, lightheaded, about to pass out hotflash... with the profuse sweating. Now, I wish that I could say that I've not had any hot flashes today, but I'm just pleased with the improvement

Hi guys,
I have had the same things happen to me. It really creeped me out in the beginning, but now I am used to it. Can't we just get hot? Why does it have to add all those others things with it? It seems unfair.

Is there anything that helps minimize these hot flashes? I read about vitamin E and primrose oil. Do they really work?

Remifemin really worked for me. Be patient, it takes about 2 weeks before it works, but then, oh boy, what a relief! It didn't take all the flushes away, but they were much, much less and those I did have weren't as hot!
Good luck! Jonie

WOW. The same exact thing happens to me. It is terrifying. How long has this been going on for you? I've had it for 4 years and I'm 44.
