As some of you know-I work 3rd shift. Well, no matter what I eat-by 4 or 5 in the a.m. I have to take an antacid. Maybe it is from sitting too much. What can I or should I eat so that I don't get this. One thing that seems to exacerbate the situation is sipping water-WHY? uGH!
Well, I am off now-so I'll check back later on today.
Hope everybody has a great Sunday! I hope we get a some good 'sleeping weather' here-lol

It could be reflux, you should ask your Dr. It could be gallblatter SP?

Can you tie your heartburn to any specific foods? I have GERD (gastro esophageal reflux disease) and here's a partial list of foods I shouldn't have:

coffee, milk, chocolate, peppermint (all of which add up to a peppermint mocha, my favorite coffee drink), tomatoes, fried foods, fatty foods, bell peppers, alcohol (especially red wine, which I LOVE), citrus fruits, soft drinks, chewing gum, and any form of sugar.

As my sister said when she saw the list, "Why don't you just ask them to shoot you?"

Not all these foods bother me. You can keep a food log and that helps to figure it out. Most important for me is what I do or don't do after I eat:

Don't wear clothing that's tight around your waist.
Don't bend over, such as to tie your shoes, after you eat.
Don't exercise vigorously after you eat.
Don't lie down for three hours after you eat.

Do eat small meals.
Do sleep with your head elevated.
Do be aware of your posture--don't sit or stand slumped over.

Hope this helps. You may want to consider a visit to a gastro doc. It made all the difference for me. Took a while to get my meds and foods worked out, but I feel a heck of a lot better now. Good luck!
