My brother is schizophrenic and I am worried about him all of the time. He is 3 yrs older than me and we have a good, strong bond. However, I feel so helpless and lost as to what I can do for him these days. He has been sick for several years and when our father died 2 and half years ago-I started to over compensate for all the years that I wasn't active in his care.
I never knew how much great the love of the Lord was, as he has kept my brother safe all this time. He has been in several assisted living place. He is in a fairly good one now.
Anyway, I'm just asking for your prayers for his peace of mind. And mine, too. My heart is breaking.

I'm so sorry you are hurting and I wish I was there to comfort you. Although I don't know you I feel your pain. It must be really difficult to love someone so deeply and watch them suffer. I pray that God will answer you and your brother with peace of mind and a complete recovery. Through God everything is possible and I will believe in prayer with you. God gives us the peace that passes all understanding and he will give that to you and your brother.
Bless You,
Michelle

Mental illness is so debilitating and such a worry for the family members. I can understand your feeling of helplessness but just be there for him -- thats all you can do, and I'm sure that is a comfort to him. He's very lucky to have a sister like you who cares so much -- just hang in there -

I feel your pain and I can only imagine how helpless and worried you are about your brother. I pray that he keeps on his meds, that the home he is in provides him with the care and warmth that he needs. I pray that you find solace in knowing that you are doing everything that you can for your loving brother. I also pray that you find comfort in the knowledge of your faith.....knowing that you too are surrounded by
love

Please know that I will keep you in my thoughts and my prayers. Watching our loved ones suffer or be in pain (whether it be a physical illness or a mental illness) is so hard. You sound like a loving and caring sister and I'm sure that he feels that.
Lots of Hugs,

I will be keeping you and your brother in my thoughts and prayers.
I know what you mean about how great the love of God is. My 43 yo brother does not have a job because he is taking care of his wife (she has MS). He himself has suffered minor strokes. She receives social security which is not much at all. But every month my brother is able to pay the bills, buy groceries, and know that everything is going to be taken care of because of his faith. My brother says he has everything he needs. I am in awe of my brother.

Seneca: My brother is also schizophrenic. I know what you are going through and how difficult it is to watch a family member stricken with this awful disease. I remember so vividly when we were little kids together, before his mind became sick....my prayers and thoughts are with you. PM me anytime if you want to chat...

Sene -
Big Hugs to you! I have a BIL who is schizphrenic, he is now in his mid 50's....believe me I know the challenges and fears you face daily, your dear brother is very lucky to have a loving sister such as you! Take comfort in the fact that he is in a comfortable place and try not to worry all the time, I am sure the staff there will handle his daily needs and you can focus on the love and support. PM me anytime - we have been thru it all! Our brother is living alone at the moment and doing okay, but this was not always the case.
you are in my thoughts........
