Hi ya'll, I just found this wonderful informative site yesterday when I needed it the most. I started bleeding yesterday after no period for 18 months. Well I can tell you along with the bleeding came lots and lots of tears. Scared and no one to talk to all I do is cry.
It started about a week ago and my nipples were sooooooooo sore. I also noticed much more lubrication around this time. I am not on HRT or using anything, and normally feel like the Sahara. But for a couple of days felt much more comfortable. Well anyway, yesterday I noticed when I went to the bathroom and wiped there was brown blood on the tissue. Never enough to get on a pad though, only when I would wipe. After crying all day and most the night I got up this morning and the flow was a little heavier but still not enough to get on a pad. I called the Doctor and have an appointment. (crying the entire time talking to them) I am so scared. I have such a bad case of "white coat syndrome" I put off going to the doctor as much as I can. That is why I am so frightened about tomorrow. I haven't been to the GYN in several years. All I can think of is cancer, cancer, cancer. My punishment for not taking care of my body and getting checkups.
I am afraid to go to the doctor tomorrow, afraid of what she will find, afraid of what she is going to do, everything. I just need someone to talk to. I have been praying, I just wanted to ask you sisters here to please please lift me up in your prayers tonight and tomorrow evening while I am at the doctor. Please say a prayer for me. Thanks, Carla

I'm in the same boat Carla. No period for about a year and suddenly this light brownish flow

I had physical and pap two weeks ago and everything appears to be okay. I think if you check around this site, you'll find tons of posts on this subject. Good luck tomorrow - let us know what he/she says.

Carla, You have come to the right place for support. I'm sure everything will be OK and you will feel much better after seeing the doctor. I had strange left side pain during peri and was sure I had cancer. I was a wreck for months and wouldn't believe the doctor until he finally conceded to an internal ultrasound that confirmed all was fine. Fear is the worst part. Its the speculation and not knowing that is so horrible. We can really get ourselves so worked up. Please check back and let us know what he says tomorrow.

Carla, welcome to P.S.!
I too have not had a period since last August and within the last week or so my nipples have also been somewhat sore and tender and I have been terribly bloated and constipated this last week, so I am also wondering if I am about to have a period......I'm sure it's all quite normal, from what I've read on here, to have a period again after such a long time (I hope for you and me!)
Let us know what the doc says.

You have had a hormone surge I am sure! The sore breasts are the key I would say.
You are bound to be worried but I bet thats all it is. Keep us posted!

Just wanted to let you all know that I went to the doctor tonight. She didn't do anything except schedule me for a biopsy and an ultrasound. She said she would do a pap when she did the biopsy. That is scheduled for 7/24. She did tell me this was not uncommon, but we do need to rule out other causes. So I will keep you all posted. Right now I am a tiny bit calmer, but I know come next week I will be a wreck again, at least until I know for sure things are ok. And believe me, I have learned my lesson about not going to the doctor regularly. From now on I am going like clockwork.
Huggs to you all, and please keep me in your prayers. When going into see the doctor I felt good knowing prayers were being lifted up for me. Thank you all, sisters.

Hi, I'm new here too and am going through the same thing. I had a very light 'period" a couple weeks ago and my doctor immediately scheduled me for an ultra sound and that probe ultra sound. This morning I had a biopsy and am waiting to hear results. I did hear that I have a fibroid (from the ultrasound) and a cyst on the outside of the uterus. I'm also scared but want to tell you that the ultrasound and the biopsy were a piece of cake. The worst part was just the speculum during the biopsy - I hate those! So hang in there and here's hoping we're both just fine!

I just wanted to let everyone that I have talked to about my problem that I just got a call from the doctor and the biopsy was negative. She said she would see me again in a year. I still have to schedule an ultrasound but I am feeling much better about everything.
Thank you all for your encouragement, prayers and kind words and listening to me and just being a shoulder to cry on for a few days. Thank you for being there for someone who was so scared.
Huggs,
Carla
