hi girls.......here we go! MORE JOY! tongue.gif .. i just noticed, when i urinated, on the paper it looked a little dark, so after i got over the initial moment of PANIC, i did it again, and this time, kind of wiped more where the vagina is ....ok, well, even though i'm only MID cycle....there is this brownish/blood like stuff on the paper. I can also feel my uterus is "weird', that HEAVY sensation down there, that pre-period feeling. THEN, to add insult to injury, my left side is aching AGAIN! it is in my waist, but once again, goes around to the back, by the kidney area! UGH! i've had this so many darn times, you'd think i'd be used to this by now,,,,,but naturally, i fly into some kind of fear attack! I end up thinking the worst, then i put that together with the brownish/blood stuff coming out, and i have myself dying of some kind of deadly disease! wink.gif

I know this breakthrough bleeding is part of peri, and i know many of you here have gotten this, but you know how this goes......the fear of "what if" looms and lurks around in our minds, until u want to just scream!

I guess i just wanted to post this to vent.........but if anyone can throw in a few words of encouragement, and maybe some personal experiences you've had with this........i 'd really appreciate it!

thanks guys!

As you said, many of us have experienced the same thing. I did, but what bothered me for a long time was when it had clots. Eventually it does pass. Hugs to you.

Hi mydarling

I am 42 and have been in peri for about 4 years. I have had this brown break through bleeding from about day 16 the last two periods, and like you had the crampy uterus thing as well. Up until now I have had the brown spotting at the end of my period, so for me this has been a change.

I feel in the last two months like my estrogen level has dropped which I think has contributed to this, interestingly my period was only about 6 days last month and no drawn out brown spotting at the end/

I will see how things are next month, as I have decided during peri any unusual symptoms I will leave for 3mths before going to the doctor, unless I am unduly worried, which I am not.

HI,

I have had this too, many times. It was in the beginning when I started with all this stuff. Seems like out of nowhere bleeding would start. Sometimes for only a day then disappear for a while. It would show up again when I least expected it. It seems to have disappeared now that I have started skipping periods. Now I go months with nothing then get the mother of all periods that lasts for over a week, then nothing again for 2 or 3 months. What a joy this is...not!

Ditto to everything you said except for the mother of all periods. I had a few more brownish moments and the periods stopped. 15 going on 16 months now without a period however this past week I believe I had a phantom period, all the symptoms except bleeding.

If I end up getting another period after all this time, I'm going to be really, reallllllllly, realllllllllllly angry.

I have also had that brownish discharge, usually about a week before my period and i've had
it more than once. My sister also gets it too. wink.gif

Gosh... it seems like we all go through the same exact things! A symptom... PANIC.... POWERSURGE!.... RELIEF. I too, just started, once again with this cramping and brown, yukky stuff. Not enough to wear a pad, but you wear one just in case and enough to be annoying after a bathroom trip and start the whole "I'm Scared!" scenerio. What in the world is this stuff and why does it seem to always hit mid-cycle?? I had this once before when I had a male gyno that swore I wasn't in peri after one blood test. (that he didn't want to do, but I insisted on) He had me go through the dreaded endometrial biopsy. (Yikes and a half!) He never did call with the results and after I cried every day for 2 and a half weeks, scared to death I had cancer, I called and the nurse paged his cell ( he was relaxingly on his way home) and after she had him call me and knew how upset I was, he got the results and all was thankfully well. A year went by and more symptoms came up and he acted like I was crazy so I changed to a female doctor who did another round of blood work, said I was in full meno and should not be bleeding at all. She said she may need to do an endometrial biopsy to see what was going on, but first wanted to do another round of blood work the following month to see where I was at. Yo and behold... all results where in normal range, which proved that I was in peri and she said no biopsy was needed! She said when blood work reads all over the place and my body is doing the same thing, that peri is what is going on. This other doctor had me go through the endo biopsy, transvaginal unltrasounds (humiliating) and a regular ultrasounds about 4 different times for fibroids and ovarian cysts and I come to find out, that once in peri, all these things usually take care of themselves and all those tests aren't necessary, unless there's a severe problem. No one ever told me about any of this stuff and I have no one to talk to about it, because my mothers not in my life, so I feel so blessed to have found this site. I'm not rushing off to the doctor with this, either. I'm going to wait and see what next cycle brings... if I have one!

Hi mydarling:

I understand perfectly whjat you are saying. You know it is normal but yet anxiety wont let you "know" it's normal. I am sorry you are having a bad time but I am there with you.

I can totally relate! i had to have the transvaginal ultrasound too, and to add insult to injury it was a bloke that done it!

I'm fed up with the spotting and now my cycle is totally out of wack. So you're not in this alone. wink.gif

May I join the club? That old familiar pelvic heaviness and spotting has started and it has only been 17 days since the last period. So far no bleeding just spotting. I keep trying to convince myself that I have some disease but it sounds like we all imagine the worst. Sort of like old leaky plumbing I guess...to have a uterus that just won't shut down. Most of my friends have had hysterectomies and have not gone through this so I am glad this site let's us compare notes.

I can totally relate to that, too! I usually had a female perform that humiliating test, but one time, she couldn't find my left ovary on the screen and had to have a male tech come in and try and locate it. I would have jumped off the table and ran out of the door if I knew that was going to happen!
Thanks so much for letting me know I'm not alone in this. No matter how brave we may sound, that nagging fear is still in the back of our minds and it always helps to have someone understand. I try to tell myself everyday that what's happening to me is perfectly abnormally normal!
