I have definitely been there; Three months ago, I had to take more than my usual amount of Valium (which really didn't work well) for about two weeks because I couldn't burn off the excess energy. I felt like I was in "overdrive" sad.gif ! I thought exercise would help, but it really made me feel worse. Under normal circumstances, exercise works very well but not when I'm in overdrive. I went to my doc and he told me to try Xanax but I didn't because the shakiness went away right after I saw him.

This whole syndrome is awful, as you don't know how you're going to feel from day to day. I felt great yesterday, hanging out with family and friends for the holiday weekend. Today, though, I have had palps or something related to palps in my chest, which has caused anxiety. My symptoms seem to be related to the GI tract. I'm not sure, but I think there is sometimes a connection between what you eat and whether or not you get heart palps or skips, etc.

I wish you all well, and I'm praying for all of us here at PS during this transitional phase of our lives.

Blessings,
Poodie

Hi! Yes, palps relating to GI disturbances has definitely been my experience. Has to do with the vagal nerve and its connections to the nerves in our throat, stomach and intestines and indirectly connected to our pelvic nerves which are connected to nerves to the tips of our toes. At one point in this meno journey, when I would step down with my right foot, I would have palps on a day when I was supersensitive for some reason. The foot thing hasn't happened for quite a while, tho. Have done a lot of reading on this. Have found only one male doctor that knew anything about it. Every other doc, including women, look at me like I have two heads. laugh.gif

Try and cut out sugary foods and drinks which seem to hype you up.
I had that couldn't sit still thing due to anxiety. I got lots done!
I just wish now I could be somewhere in-between!

i actually had my first bout with this 'overdrive' thing a couple of days ago. couldn't believe how much i got done and how great i felt, but by the end of the day, plus the next day i was wiped out completely!

didn't realize this was yet another symptom some of us would have to deal with! so relieved to find this thread!!

just wish i could find a peaceful place in the middle, too, alice!

oh man, this is ME! OVERDRIVE CITY! yeah, i seem to swing from to pooped, to overdrive! then, i get the shakes. It can come on me whenever, for no particular reason either. It doesn't seem to matter what i eat, or don't eat. I just thank God for Xanax....lol ...no, seriously, I take xanax when i'm in overdrive, and it really does help! This feels like my body, is revved up, as if you were to put your car in park, and then rev up the engine! this is nuts! it does eventually die down during the day, but not always, and when it does,....it usually takes the xanax to do that.
