Has anyone had total restlessness where they find it hard to relax and even watch tv or read? It seems like ever since I started on this peri journey that most of the time especially before my period if I do try to relax I get anxious, heart palpitations and so on.I seem to feel better the more I do although I also feel like I'm carrying a hundred pound weight on my shoulders. The only time I feel my best is right before I go to bed.I find it real hard to get up in the morning but am even restless when I wake up and toss and turn. Anyone out there have anything like this?

Huuummmmmmmmmmm!!! This sounds suspiciously familiar. This last winter I went thru a horrible three months. Never knew when the anxiety/restlessness would start. Would feel like I was going to jump right out of my skin. Things have settled down a bit with the warmer weather. I don't really know if the weather has anything to do with it or not. I am being busier. It is true what you say--symptoms aren't as bad when one is busier--the trick is to be busy inspite of the symptoms.

Symptoms have lessened quite a bit for me, especially the last couple of months. I hope this is lasting and gets better still. It has been a long haul--since 1992. I was 42 when it all started and am turning 60 this month. A long time friend of mine who has known and given me much support thru all of this (I was able to do likewise for her) was going to meet me at the top of the Seattle Space Needle for our 60th birthday celebration (she is three days older than me). Life has happened for both of us (as it does) so we probably won't be able to physically be there so will be on the phone and internet at the same time at the Space Needle website.
So, please have faith and believe it does get better.

Oh yes, been there, done it... but it does get better!
Hope you feel more relaxed very soon!
Have you read Claire Weekes book on anxiety - "Self-help for your nerves" ?
Or you can listen to her online -

(delete the gap and it should take you there)
Hope it helps!
Good luck, Jonie

I relate to this very well. I have been going through this for the last couple months. My anxiety has been horrible at times. Feeling like jumping out of your skin describes it perfectly.

That is how I feel, too. I can't even take a catnap anymore. I seem to be able to spend too much time on the internet!

For instance I just got my period today and am alot calmer. I take ibuprophen for the cramps so that might help a little. I just dread these times before and during ovulation and two weeks before my period. It's like I have little if any good days. I don't want to go to social things or where I have to be in relaxed atmosphere because it's almost impossible to relax. When will I get more relief other than when I just get my periods?

yes, this is like a restlessness that is on the verge of a panic attack. This feeling last for HOURS. I tell myself to have a panic attack and get it over with! The other feeling that's typically associated is the vibrating, shaking feeling that makes it seem like your heart is racing but it's not. I'm so so done with this crud.
