hi ladies,

THIS DARN SINUS! UGH! mad.gif does anyone else have this, with peri, i mean? it's been quite a while since I've posted about this darn sinus thing, but IT'S BACK! I've been dealing with this headache/pressure/stinging/"sore" sinus feeling on the LEFT SIDE of my head, once again! Yes, you all remember, i only get symptoms on my LEFT side! lol ....it seems to also go down the back side of my head (on the left), and the left side of my neck. I'm taking benedryl, but sometimes it doesn't really help at all! I'm wondering if this isn't muscle tension of some sort. (i also have it over the left eyebrow).

Anyone have any suggestions? The benedryl can be helpful, but, if anyone can suggest anything STRONGER please do!

thanks girls.

P.S. - this is now happening AFTER my period, which ended about 4 days ago. Those first few days after, were GREAT, but now, it's going down that slippery slope on the other side again.

I get the same thing only it's on the right side and yes I have had the lightheadedness and off balance. A lot of times, it is because the sinus pressure is affecting my inner ear or at least that is what the doctor said.

Yes, and yes!! I think a key is really taking care of your sinuses. Try daily (or twice daily) spray of saline. It has helped me immensely; together with an occasional Sudafed. If you live somewhere where there is little humidity in the summertime; you may want to try a humidifier also.

How do you give your sinuses a spray of saline Cathy?

Well, I had "elective" (ahem) nasal surgery a few months ago and I can't breathe because of the swelling at the tip. As a result, I hyperventilate without knowing and work myself up into a panic attack. Nice, eh? I use saline spray and it doens't do anything but irrigate. I don't need irrigation, I need to unswell.

Well, well, well. I haven't had the sinus problem in quite awhile but I woke up this morning and voila it's back with a vengeance. dry.gif

I've tried Neti Pots, sinus irrigators you use on the end of a water pick and saline sprays. Nothing seems to work when I get like this. Sudafed makes my hair stand on ends (I get very anxious on it), soooo I just have to live with it.

Another few things happening, my breast have become very tender over the last several days and I have a discharge just like I would get right before my period. I haven't had a period in about 15 months so this should be interesting.

I have had sinus trouble most of my life and was addicted to afrin when I was a teenager, so I suspect peri is not totally to blame for me.
I also see you live in Fl.....I lived there from 20 to 33 and my sinus troubles seemed to be made worse by the very high humidity. I carried Halls with me everywhere and had one in my mouth often, my throat was sore or irritated alot and my nasal passages just seemed swollen all the time where I felt like it was struggle to breath (thats why I ****** Halls for that vapor feeling) oh and I was covered with vicks alot.
I moved North and while it didn't cure my sinus problem, nor did I move for that reason, it did seem like I was less swollen until summer hit and the humidity started again. Now that peri is a factor I can say I am or was stuffy daily again, with spaciness. I have been prescribed nasonex, flonase, I have used saline sprays so I could do them more often only to have them help for about 10 minutes. I just figured I was wired this way and to deal with it. I don't know how I came across is, but saw neti pot somewhere and didn't know what it was so I did my research and bought and squeeze ( that word looks funny)bottle with a saline solution( you let the solution run through your nose to clear all the yek out) and let me tell you I wish I had used it many years ago. It works 80%+ of the time at letting me breath through my nose all day. I still have an issue with the humidity when it gets really high, but that isn't too often here. My nose is not crustyor swollen anymore and I breathe much more clear...you may give it a try. HUGS Mikki
