I'm five years post and my symptoms didn't really start until last year. I'm doing much better now but I still get those "unexplained bouts of bloat." Actually, since they seem to come at about the same time every month, I suspect it's a hormonal thing.

But do my stomach muscles hurt for a few days! Very painful. There's lots pf gurgling and gas...and then...it all just goes away.

Anyone have any good remedies for bloating? I use the old reliable hot water bag.

Thanks,
Helen

Hi Helen,

One "old P-S Bud" to another. tongue.gif

Yes, it is miserable when we are bloated, but can't "pass gas!" I don't get this so much anymore, but remember it being a real pain. One thing that helped a lot was to go for about a 1/2 hour brisk walk. Something about that ALWAYS got things underway. While walking, I'd have the gurgling start up, and sure enough, on the stretch back home, I was feeling "lighter!" laugh.gif

Swimming does the same thing, BTW, but watch the bubbles! smile.gif

Helen,
YES YES AND YES, I am currently having to do with this and I totally agree with JJ about the walking and also do some bending, yep double over and wham that helps.
I do take teas like STAR ANISE, RED RASBERY LEAF, CHAMOMILE and have been watching the sugars and what I eat like lay off the broc. etc for a while.
I will tell you something that over the long term really is great and that is the yogurt called ACTIVIA and adding Probiotics like Acidophilus to your daily supplements.
Its great for the gut. Oatmeal is also great I add a banana in the morning.Yes the stomach muscles aching is a good way of putting it alright. I only have begun to miss two months of periods you are lucky you are post.
My sister who is also post has had the same bouts to so its normal it seems.

God bless
