Good morning,
Last night I had two glasses of wine over a 4 hour period and man, I was sweating bullets all nigh long. sooooo hot. Even my husband touched my arm and face and couldn't believe how hot I was. I told him I get really hot at night, but he couldn't believe it was that bad. Usually I can manage, but lastnight was bad, ac was on and the ceiling fan. I was fine up till I started the red wine. Does anyone else feel hotter when they have a drink or two?

I have heard other ladies say it does affect them in that way, but I have a glass or two of wine every night before bed and I have never had a night sweat. The only way I can sleep is to completely knock myself out or I wont sleep a wink.

Sorry you are being plagued in this way, I hope you find a way to enjoy yourself without having these repercussions.

Yep, I'm like you. Whenever I drink a glass of red wine, I can count on having some symptoms to act up. Usually, hot flashes, and some internal shaking. It's just annoying to me, but I try to ignore it best I can.

E,

I have this issue with any wine that I drink. My skin gets hot to the touch and I basically cook. I sweat a bit during the night whilst sleeping, but the hard part for me is the morning after. I have hot flashes throughout the morning. They usually subside by mid-morning, but I cannot even put make-up on first thing when getting ready for work, it simply runs down my face.

My doctor said that if I cut out my wine at night that I would also find my hot flashes easing up...but then I can't sleep. What's the trade off? Sweat or insomnia? Got me... blink.gif

Yes, wine or liquor of any kind sets me ablaze. I love Baileys and coffee but had to give it up. sad.gif

enough,

I had 2 glasses of wine 3 years ago at my daughter's wedding and I had palpitations and hot flashes all night.
It was just one more thing to add to the MENOPAUSE DON'TS list!!!
Hugs,
Arla.

Me too. I love wine, but decided the HOT FLASH isn't worth it. Bailey's bothered me too (Irish coffee dessert). I think Beer might bother me too?! I'll try it out one of these hot evenings. Gee-whiz.

I had the same problem for two years....with every glass of wine, I had multiple hotflashing and night sweats. With being part French and part Scottish this proved to be quite the delimna ....(HIC)!!! wink.gif

I refused to give up my nightly glass of red wine so I hotflashed away and sweating be.......danged.

I am now pretty much hotflashed and night sweated out.....I am post and I can drink what I want without the dreaded sweating.

Hang in there.....it DOES get better!!

I ALWAYS sweat when I drink alcohol. I'm not much of a drinker, so that might be one reason. But regardless, I can have one beer and I'm burning up. I was in New Orleans one St. Paddy's Day in March -- temp was in the 50s -- and I was so hot I was about to go buy a little T-shirt and lose the long sleeve thing I was wearing. If I'm sitting in a restaurant and have a drink, the seat of my jeans is wet with perspiration when I get up. Don't know if it's peri related though. I've always done it.
