I had a few symptoms here and there for about 3 yrs now. Mild hot flashes, closer periods with sometimes 2 in a month, mild anxiety, etc.. But it seemed like it all hit big time a month ago. And it all started the day before I started me P. I had tight chest, strange inner shakes, dizziness, strange pressure headaches feeling like a tight band around the head, hot flashes, anxiety, tingly-itchy crawly feelings and aches and pains. The First doc I saw said I had a sinus infection and fibromyalgia and to take a strong antibiotic. I returned 3 days later with more severe headaches, dizziness, anxiety and terrible acid reflex and diarrhea from the antibiotic so second doc put me on a stronger one. go fig. 3 days after that, 3rd doc calls and says it's not a sinus infection, it's just allergies and to stop the antibiotic and to take Zyrtec-D instead. I took one and got so jittery and high strung and massive hot flashes and anxiety along with chest pains. It was terrible. Went back a third time and had EKG and blood tests for thyroid, sugar, heart etc and also an upper GI. Followed by hormone tests which came back normal also. They all came back normal. And doc still says it's just allergies and some anxiety and to take claritin instead. Quoting the doctor: "I can give you a valium if you want." Is that what they say when they think you are just nutty or a hypochondriac? So, by then as you can see, I was feeling nutty, overwhelmed, frustrated and even more anxious than ever. That was almost 2 weeks ago and I haven't taken any claritin or valiums (I was so tired and feeling sick from taking this and that and just wanted my body to be clean from all the different meds) and I decided to do some research instead and that's how I found Power Surge. And I am so glad that I did. 3 FEMALE doctors in 3 weeks along with many conversations with nurses and not one of them thought it could be perimenopause? I don't see my gyno until July 24. In the meantime, I will continue reading the posts here and educate myself. I don't feel so alone anymore. I find that reading these posts lessens the anxiety somewhat. And a good cup of decaf camomile tea!
Thank God I found this place.
Thank you, Thank YOU, THANK YOU!

I hope you know what your getting yourself into! LOL!!! No seriously, WELCOME

I have been on and off of here for a couple of years and like you I found this site during my desperation point. I am 41 and early in the meno thing but I have so many symptoms it's crazy and you'll find they flucuate. A lot. So, with that in mind, you will notice there are a lot of women here. They will support you, laugh with you, cry with you, go to the brink of insanity (and sometimes over the edge) and back with you...all while holding your hand. Scour this site for info. There is a lot of help and support here. Dearest (the site founder) is incredible and what's nice is she is human just like the rest of us! I strongly suggest the live chat at the bottom of the page. THAT'S a real winner. This place can be a bit addicting but you will like it here. So, once again...Welcome!

Welcome mommymott:
Welcome to power surge a miraculous place conceived by Dearest and populated by intelligent compassion and supportive women and occasionally men who can relate to what you are going through. The symptoms that you list are all, I believe, included in the 34 meno symptoms listed somewhere on these boards - I think there is even a post with 60 something meno symptoms. Use the search function at the top right of this page to look up anything you are interested in by memeber name or topic.
Its not fun certainly but PS makes it alot more tolerable.
Reach out anytime - pooks
